Three Lehighton property owners were cited for violating a borough ordinance for failing to remove snow/ice from their sidewalks.

Borough police said the following were issued citations: John Nichols, 405 New York Ave., Wildwood, N.J., for property located at the northwest corner of First and Iron streets; Northeast Counseling Services, 750 E. Broad St., Hazleton, for property at 460 S. Seventh St.; and Demetrius Haikalis, 335 Center St., Lehighton, for property at 209 N. First St.

A hit-and-run driver is being sought in Monroe County. The accident is one of two reported on by state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said Tammy R. Mokshefski, 45, of Blakeslee, was in the southbound lane of SR115, at the intersection with State Road, in Chestnuthill Township, about 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, while another vehicle was alongside her vehicle in the left turn lane. Both were stopped for a red traffic light.

Lansford police Det./Sgt. Jack Soberick has charged Travis Williams, 21, of 702 E. Front St., Lansford, with indecent assault and indecent exposure stemming from incidents which took place between Sept. 1 and Nov. 28, 2010, at 347 W. Ridge St. According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford, here's what happened:

Soberick had been asked to participate in an investigation of an allegation of inappropriate contact between an adult and a girl that had been reported to on-duty officer Brian Zulic on or about Nov. 28, 2010.

A Schuylkill County man was arrested this week on charges of terroristic threats after texting two persons and allegedly making threats to them.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Justin David Blume, 38, of Barnesville, was texting messages to Vickie Jo Jones, 38, of New Philadelphia Rd., Orwigsburg, in West Brunswick Township, after he was court-ordered not to have contact with her due to a pending investigation. Jones told Blume to stop texting her.

A vehicle stop in Monroe County has led to drug charges pending against a county resident.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers stopped a Chrysler Concord sedan about 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, along SR611 at the Tobyhanna Service Station in Tobyhanna, after observing it weaving back and forth. The operator was identified as Rachel Lloyd, 18, of Pocono Lake, and her passenger as Joshua Csikortos, 18, of Tobyhanna.

A two vehicle crash in Schuylkill County that occurred about 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, has led to a driving under the influence (DUI) charge pending against one of the drivers. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the crash occurred along SR61, at Briar Road, in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said John Morrison, 58, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2006 Cyrysler Sebring southbound in the right lane behind a 2006 Ford F250 truck operated by Michael Sweigert, 39, of Llewellyn.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a burglary at a Schuylkill County business.

Troopers said Rodney Blankenhorn, of 2039 Long Run Rd., Schuylkill Haven, reported someone pushed open the entry door leading to the garage of his business, Smoke's Auto Sales, SR443, and removed a Stihl chain saw, Stihl weed trimmer, a pressure washer and a printer/copier.

The entry occurred sometime between Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 4:50 p.m. and 8 a.m. on Thursday.

A Carbon County man was jailed on a charge of terroristic threats following an incident in Lehigh County.

Slatington police said Andrew Kressler, 62, of 2367 E. Lizard Creek Rd., Lehighton, was charged for allegedly placing a telephone call to the grandmother of his girlfriend and making threats to shoot the grandmother's son-in-law.

Kressler was arraigned on the charge and committed to the county prison in lieu of $10,000 straight cash bail, police said.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred at a Schuylkill County business.

Troopers said the incident occurred at the Getty Gas Station, located along the Pottsville/Saint Clair Highway, in Norwegian Township.
