Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating a sexual assault incident.

Police said about 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, a female juvenile from Long Pond reported she had been sexually assaulted by a male juvenile, also from Long Pond.

After an investigation the male was charged with attempted rape of a child and related counts. He was placed in a juvenile detention center pending a Monroe County court hearing.

State police at Frackville are investigating the theft from a vending machine at the Schuylkill Mall in New Castle Township.

Troopers said mall security discovered that somone cut a lock off a vending machine at the Kmart store and removed about $30.

The incident occurred sometime between Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 8 p.m. and Wednesday at 7:34 a.m.

Charged with criminal trespass

Criminal charges were filed against Tammie Heller, 39, of 72 Keats Lane, Albrightsville, for criminal trespass and criminal mischief. The incident occurred on Oct. 31 at 12 a.m. in the 400 block of Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton.

Palmerton resident charged with DUI

Criminal charges were filed against Devin Dunwoodie, 33, of 28 Penn Avenue, Palmerton, for DUI, accidents involving damage to attended vehicle or property, duty to give information and render aid and stop signs and yield signs.

Jim Thorpe police reported on three driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made following investigations.

Police said Robert R. Beck Jr., 47, of 177 Municipal Rd., New Ringgold, was stopped for a traffic violation about 12:52 a.m. on May 11, along Lentz Trail. Beck displayed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He was taken to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test. The result revealed a .11BAC. He was charged with two counts of DUI, and several summary traffic violations, police said.

The driver killed in the crash of a car and tractor trailer in Lehigh County has been identified.

The Lehigh County coroner's office said James F. Heller, 61, of Macungie, died in the crash that occurred about 9:52 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11.

According to state police at Fogelsville the crash occurred at the intersection of Buckeye and Tank Farm roads, in Upper Milford Township.

A Lehigh County driver was charged following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, along SR143 (Decatur St.), in Lynn Township.

State police at Fogelsville said Danielle E. Hollinger, 49, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound during heavy rain.

She swerved onto the north shoulder and struck a cement bridge abutment with the front end. She was able to drive off the road and park in the lot at the New Tripoli Fire Company.

State police at Lehighton reported on three harassment incidents in which charges were filed.

Troopers said on Nov. 4 about 6:45 p.m. at 414 Centre St., Parryville, Nicole Lilly, 29, of Palmerton, and Girard Lee Getz, 38, of Parryville, were involved in an incident in which both threatened to strike each other in the face. Both were cited for harassment.

A driver and his passenger fled an accident scene in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 192 Jeams St., in Blythe Township.

Troopers said Joseph Renninger, 27, of Middleport, was driving a 1992 Ford Mustang northbound when he lost control while negotiating a left curve. The car spun around and struck a tree with the rear end of the vehicle. The impact caused the pole to be sheared off. The car came to final rest on the east berm.

A New Jersey man has been charged in connection with a shooting incident in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Duane M. McClelland, 30, of Lindenwood, has been charged with a felony count of aggravated assault, and charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct.

According to police on Nov. 5 they responded to 737 Minsi Trail East, in The Estates, of Emerald Lakes, Long Pond, for a report of a male shot in the back with a pellet gun.
