State police at Fogelsville reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 8:28 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, along Kings Highway North, in Lynn Township, Lehigh County.

Troopers said Elena M. Gregoire, 19, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2000 Nissan Altima behind a 2008 Nissan Frontier, driven by Brian M. Deeb, 31, of Palmyra, Lebanon County. Deeb began to slow down for traffic in faront of him and Gregoire failed to see him slowing.

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a one vehicle crash about 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 16 along SR3016 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Jose A. Gago Jr., 31, of Mt. Pocono, was driving a 1995 Nissan Altima too fast when it crashed into the guide rail and came to rest.

Gago and passengers Maria M. Flores, Frankie Velez, Kimberly Velez and Kimara Gago, all of the Tobyhanna area, were all not injured.

Gago was cited for careless driving and for not having a child properly secured in a child safety seat.

State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of a vehicle that occurred this week.

Troopers said a 1999 Chevrolet 1500 series conversion van was stolen from along Reservoir Road, in Union Township, sometime between 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25, and 2 p.m. on Wednesday. The van, blue in color belongs to Lamar Lex, 71, of Ringtown, and was parked on his property.

A three-vehicle crash shutdown a busy Schuylkill County roadway on Wednesday afternoon and was caused by road conditions. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred along SR209 at the intersection with Wood St., in the village of Cumbola, Blythe Township, at about 4:30 p.m.

Troopers said Katie Mertz, 30, of Tamaqua, and Eugene McCormick Jr., 51, of Middleport, were both traveling northbound toward New Philadelphia with Mertz behind McCormick. Michelle Drust, 44, of Coaldale, was southbound at the time headed toward Port Carbon.

Two separate traffic stops by members of the Pocono Mountain Regional police has led to charges being filed against two individuals

On Wednesday, Jan. 26, about 1:45 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle along SR611 near Bill's Shop Rite Plaza for vehicle code violations. As officers spoke with the driver and occupants they observed indications of intoxication and illegal narcotics. Further investigation led to a search of the vehicle and the occupants.

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 2:22 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 25.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers stopped Bradford R. Borstelmann, 23, of Mt. Pocono, along SR611 at Crestwood Drive for several equipment violations.

Borstelmann was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then placed under arrest and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results.

Two drivers were arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) in separate incidents in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said about 8:23 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, Julius Racz, 29, of Breinigsville, was stopped operating a 2000 Saturn sedan along Hamilton Blvd., near Krocks Rd., in Lower Macungie Township, for a vehicle code violation. At the stop Racz was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was then placed under arrest for DUI and taken for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers added.

A Bangor man was arrested by Mahoning Township police for assaulting a retail store manager and giving false identification to police, and both the man and a woman who was with him were charged with retail theft after trying to leave the store without paying for $1,463 worth of merchandise.

The charges stemmed from an incident that took place at 6:06 a.m. Jan. 21 at the Super Wal-Mart along SR443, according to police chief Kenneth A. Barnes.

Snyder Ave., Lansford: Harassment on Dec. 25 at 156 W. Snyder Ave.; Anna Heffelfinger, 18, of 216 N. Oak St., Summit Hill: Harassment on Dec. 30 at 11:49 a.m. on the 200 block of E. Ridge Street.
