State police at the Fogelsville barracks are investigating a hit-and-run accident that happened at 8:45 a.m., Dec. 12 on Interstate 78 westbound in Upper Macungie Township.

Police said a tractor trailer traveling west on the interstate struck the rear of a 2004 Chrysler Sebring driven by Lauren N. Saenger, 24, of Alburtis, causing minor damages. Police said the rig failed to stop.

Saenger was not injured.

A 70-year-old Pottsville woman was robbed in the parking lot of the Boscov's Department Store in Norweigan Township, near Pottsville, at about 9:45 p.m. Dec. 15, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Two persons were arrested by state police at the Fogelsville barracks for shoplifting at 10:56 p.m., Dec. 15.

The incident happened at the Wal-Mart store in Lower Macungie Township. Charged are Dalton Miller of Coplay and Kevin McDermott of Fogelsville.

Police said it is alleged they stole two Yugioh cards valued at $135 from the store.

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported they are investigating sexual offenses that took place between Nov. 16 and Dec. 14 in a Pleasant Valley Intermediate Unit school bus.

Police said the investigation was launched after it was reported the sexual act between two juveniles took place while on the bus.

A husband and wife were both arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after incidents on Interstate 78 in Weisenberg Township on Dec. 14.

The theft of a 1995 Volkswagen from West Main Street in Girardville is under investigation by state police at the Frackville barracks.

The victim is Travis McCormick, 21, of Girardville.

He told police someone stole the maroon-colored vehicle and later crashed it on White Street in Shenandoah Borough, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a burglary that happened between 9 p.m. and midnight Dec. 16 at the Brown Jug Bar, Tower City.

Police said someone forced open a front window of the business to gain access and proceeded to steal a cash register from behind the bar area. The register container about $200 in cash, police said.

Police said the intruder(s) also tried to steal a second cash register but left it behind while fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim is Michelle Schoffstal of Tower City.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a criminal mischief incident that happened between 1-6:30 p.m., Dec. 15 at the Schuylkill Veterinary Hospital, 1170 State Route 61, North Manheim Township.

Police said someone arrived at the location and smashed a side entrance door window with an unknown object before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks are investigating the theft of items from a man's wallet at the BanditTruck Stop, 2277 Golden Key Road, Weisenberg Township.

The victim is Rajunder Singh of Wayne, Mich.

Police said he dropped his wallet on the ground without knowing it and when it was turned in to truck stop employees several items were removed from it.

Rashid A. Keitz, 24, of Allentown, is facing a charge of harassment as a result of an incident at 9 a.m. Dec. 10 at 3476 Golden Key Road, Weisenberg Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said the victim is Beth Raub, 26, of Kempton.

Police said Keitz was employed by a company that gives 24/7 support to individuals who are not capable of living and being dependent on their own. On the above date and time, it is alleged he was on duty to care for the victim, during which time he allegedly pushed her into a chair causing bruising on the right side of her hip.
