Two women was arrested and charged in connection with a Monroe County burglary.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Tuesday, Dec. 13, about 11:47 a.m. the home of Theresa Mahoney, 69, of 191 Candlewick Estates, Tunkhannock Township, was entered and various pieces of jewelry taken.

An investigation led to the arrest of Catherine M. Spera, 27, and Alisha M. Reaser, 27, both of Candlewick Estates. The stolen property was recovered.

The two suspects were charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and related charges, police said.

Terry Eschbach Sr. 55, of 270 Harvard Ave., Palmerton, faces charges from an incident which took place at 10:38 p.m. Oct. 22, 2010 at Patterson and Springgarden Streets in Lansford. Two counts of driving under the influence, careless driving, and traffic control signals were filed by Officer Jason Helmer.

State poice at the Lehighton barracks said a good samaritan found a powered DeWalt saw and a black case on Nov. 15 at 3:15 p.m. along Strohl's Valley Road in Towamensing Township and turned the valuables over to them.

Anyone who may have lost the equipment, or had it stolen, is asked to contact police at (610) 377-4270.

Christopher Oxenrider, 28, of Gilbert, is facing charges of driving under the ifluence of alcohol as a result of a traffic stop on Dec. 10 at 2:30 a.m.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said he was stopped on Burger Hollow Road in Polk Township, Monroe County, after police observed him committing traffic violations. Police said he showed signs of impairment, failed field sobriety tests and was transported to the barracks for a breathalyzer test.

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a criminal mischief incident that was reported to them at 4:12 p.m. Dec. 4.

The victim is the Palmerton Lumber Co., 380 Sand Quarry Road, Palmerton.

Police said someone entered the property and damaged a gas pump.

A Monroe County teen is facing a charge of rape and related charges.

State police at Fern Ridge said on Tuesday, Dec. 13, a 12-year-old girl reported she had consensual sexual intercourse with David Charles Tanner, 19, of Stroudsburg, at least on three occasions in November.

Tanner was interviewed and confessed to the allegations, troopers said. He was charge and is awaiting arraignement, troopers added.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a theft incident in Carbon County.

Troopers said the theft occurred at 761 Old Stage Road, in Penn Forest Township. Unknown criminals stole a 40-foot aluminum ladder, a 28-foot orange fiberglass ladder and a 24-foot aluminum plank from the property. The items were on the ground behind the home. Red spray paint was used to mark the items, which had an estimated value of $1,000.

The items are the property of Seitz Brothers Roofing, of Albrightsville, troopers said.

A burglary that happened between 8 a.m. and 10:45 p.m. Dec. 6 at a home in Penn Forest Township is under investigation by state police at the Lehighton barracks.

The victim is Robert A. Christman, 43, of 1729 State Route 903, Jim Thorpe.

He told police someone entered his residence and removed two lock boxes from a bedroom closet. One of the boxes contained about $1,000 in cash while the other one had various paperwork in it.

Police said the intruder(s) fled in an unknown direction. There was no forced entry at the residence, police added.

A traffic stop on Dec. 12 at 5:38 p.m. on Route 248 in Bowmanstown resulted in a Weissport man being held on an outstanding warrant issued against him in Lebanon County, state police at the Lehighton barracks said.

Police stopped Bradlee Luis Schneider, 24, for a traffic violation and later learned he was wanted in another county. He was also arrested on drug-related charges, police said.

A juvenile who police said broke into a home in Ross Township, Monroe County, was apprehended, charged and transported to the Lehigh County Detention Center according to state police at the Lehighton barracks.

The incident happened at 11 p.m. Dec. 2 at the residence of Jim and Brianna Shanley, 147 highpoint Drive, Saylorsburg.

Police said the juvnile broke a screen and climbed through a bedroom window to gain entry to the home. He was found sleeping on the bedroom floor.
