Mahoning Township police charged a Jim Thorpe man with drug law violations after a Feb. 3 traffic stop along SR209.

According to a report released by Police Chief Kenneth Barnes, officers stopped the vehicle at 11:51 p.m. at Packerton Dam Drive for an equipment violation. When the officer approached the driver of the vehicle he could smell the odor of marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. The officer then observed in plain view drug paraphernalia that is commonly used for using marijuana.

A Tamaqua man has been cited after a dispute with his neighbor on Jan. 29.

Officers were dispatched to 212 1/2 Orwigsburg St. at 5:47 p.m. and were met by Raymond Reinert, who stated he had been involved in a dispute with his neighbor, Brent Kunkel, 29, of 212 Orwigsburg St. Reinert said he had complained to Kunkel about an excessive noise situation.

Tamaqua police have cited Jeremy F. Lockwitch, 22, of 124 Penn St., Tamaqua, following a Jan. 31 incident on Hunter Street.

Officers were dispatched to 201 Hunter St. at 6:43 p.m. for a reported disturbance. At the scene they found Lockwitch, who refused to leave the premises despite repeated warnings. Lockwitch started to follow the officer's orders to leave then decided to retrace his steps and begin an argument with the officer.

He was taken into custody and issued a citation for simple trespass.

A driver was cited after she was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 8:14 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, along the Burma Road, in the area of the Mountain Valley Golf Course in Ryan Township.

Troopers said Lissette Fernandez, 19, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet southbound when he lost control after passing another vehicle. Her car went onto the west berm and struck a tree, where it came to rest.

Mahoning Township police charged an Andreas woman found slumped in her car with empty aerosol dusting cans with driving under the influence (DUI) of solvents or noxious substances.

Miranda L. Mooney, 22, of the 1500 block of Penn Drive, admitted to police that she had been "huffing" the substance.

According to a report by Police Chief Kenneth Barnes, Mooney began huffing the spray while in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Super Center.

Mahoning Township police charged a Lehighton man with driving under the influence (DUI) after his truck became stuck in a snowbank on the Mansion House Hill.

Police responded to a call about a truck stuck in the snow with an intoxicated driver at 9:16 p.m. Feb. 5. Police smelled a strong odor of alcohol from the driver, John Heine, 46, of the 100 block of Third St. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Lehighton hospital for blood tests. The DUI charge is pending the test results.

A Schuylkill County truck driver was involved in a crash in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Robert J. Heim, 46, of Ringtown, was driving a 2005 Freightliner tractor with trailer northbound on SR309 in Lynn Township, about 6:03 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3, when he lost control on the ice-covered roadway. The rig "jack-knifed" and came to rest with the tractor off the road and the trailer blocking both north and southbound lanes.

Heim sustained a minor injury in the crash and was treated at the scene.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft from a vehicle incident at a Schuylkill County location.

Troopers said the unlocked Toyota Prius of Pamela S. Bixler, 39, of 1447 W. Main St., Valley View, Hegins Township, was entered sometime between Saturday, Feb. 5, at 11:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6:45 a.m. while parked at her home.

Removed from the vehicle was a Nexstar GPS navigation system and a stun gun.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following arrests made by officers recently.

On Feb. 3 about 7:23 p.m. officers were called to the Wal-Mart store in Mt. Pocono for a report that a fight had occurred. Upon arrival officers spoke with the victim who stated the suspect left the scene prior to their arrival. The victim said the suspect became upset when a jar of Alfredo sauce spilled onto the floor and some got on his shoe.
