Enrique Oerez, 29, of 189 Glade Drive, Long Pond, was injured in a motorcycle crash Aug. 25 at 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Route 209 and Stable Road in Towamensing Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks did not report any details of the crash, except to say he was driving a 2003 red Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle that crashed. The victim was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

The Towamensing Township Fire Department and Palmerton Ambulance assisted police at the scene.

No one was hurt in a one-vehicle crash Aug. 26 at 12:04 a.m. on Weir Lake Road (State Route 3013) in Ross Township, Monroe County.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said Michael N. Chlopik, 27, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon north on the road when it traveled off the roadway and struck a boulder.

Police said the driver will be cited.

A Nesquehoning man has been charged with assault and related offenses involving a 12-year-old boy.

Borough police officer Timothy Wuttke has charged Michael David Gonzales, 28, whose address is listed at 116 W. High St., with one count each of endangering the welfare of children, terroristic threats, attempted simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment.

State police at Fogelsville reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made recently by troopers.

On Friday, Aug. 24, about 10:53 p.m. troopers stopped Scott Allen Minnich, 46, of Germansville, along SR100 in Lowhill Township after observing him driving erratically. He was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. He was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Charges will be filed, troopers said.

Disorderly conduct

Citations for disorderly conduct were filed against a 15-year-old Palmerton male, two 16-year-old Palmerton females, a 16-year-old Palmerton male, and Ryan Shupp, 38, of 360 Lehigh Avenue, Apt F, Palmerton. A citation for driving without a valid license was also filed against one of the 16-year-old Palmerton females. The violations occurred on Aug. 16 at 9 p.m. in the 400 block of Third Street.

Pocono Mountain Regional police have planned a fund raising project to help the department provide continued safety and service to the public. The money raised in the project will help fund the K-9 program, National Night Out event, Mountain Bike Patrol Unit, Community Service programs, and technology upgrades for the department.

The third annaul fundraiser will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Pinecrest Golf Club. The day begins with the "Catch the K9" event, 5K run/walk at 8 a.m. with a 7 a.m. registration.

A Carbon County business has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board.

The Batter's Box Sports Bar & Grille Inc., of 10 E. Lehigh St., Summit Hill, was cited for operating in a noisy and/or disorderly manner. The board said the alleged offenses occurred on the following dates: Feb. 4, 5 and 26; March 16, 17, and 31; April 1, 15, and 29; May 5, 6, 12, 13, 18, 19, 25, 27, and 28; June 30; and July 1.

A Harrisburg man has been charged in connection with another bank robbery that occurred in Schuylkill County.

Monday state police at Schuylkill Haven charged Kevin Eugene Smith, 28, of 628 Curtin St., in connection with the armed robbery of the Halifax Bank, located at 920 E. Wiconisco Ave., in Tower City.

State police at Fogelsville conducted a speed check enforcement detail using an aircraft. The detail was conducted on Friday, Aug. 24, along Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, beginning about 10 a.m.

As a result 11 speeding citations were issued with the highest speed clocked at 102 miles-per-hour. After the detail participating patrol units resumed regular patrols.

Troopers will continue with periodic use of such speed checks along I78 in an effort to target aggressive drivers and reduce crashes.

A 15-year-old Slatington teen is facing drug counts following an incident that occurred about 8:39 p.m. on Aug. 16 in the area of 3075 Weidasville Rd., in Lowhill Township.

State police at Fogelsville said troopers responded to the above location for a report of a male lying on the ground and possibly intoxicated. On scene the troopers found a vehicle with four juveniles.

After questioning the juveniles there was a clear plastic bag containing marijuana on the floor on the vehicle in plain view.
