A Monroe County business has been cited by the state liquor control board.

Vertex Quest Corporation, trading as Log Cabin Bar & Grill, 1000 SR611, in Tannersville, Barrett Township, was cited for sold, furnished and/or gave or permitted such sale, furnishing or giving of alcoholic beverages to a minor. The alleged infraction occurred on June 14.

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of littering following an incident that occurred on July 5.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 6:21 p.m. officers received a complaint of a person throwing beer cans from his truck along Commerce St., in Pocono Summit.

Police responded to the scene and spoke with the complainant who stated he had photographs of the male in a blue truck throwing cans.

Police viewed the photos and also observed multiple cans of beer along side the road.

A Monroe County driver led police on a high-speed chase and is facing charges.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 11:59 p.m. on July 6 they observed an Acura Integra traveling eastbound on SR940, near Interstate 380, at a very high rate of speed. Police attempted to stop the car but the driver sped off.

The chase continued at a high rate of speed into Mount Pocono where the driver ran a red traffic light at the intersection with SR611 and crashed.

A Monroe County man is facing charges of simple assault and harassment following a domestic incident.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on July 8 officers respondd to 579 Laurel Drive, in Tobyhanna, for a domestic incident. On scene officers were told that Kevin Preston, 54, and his wife, Diane Saenger, were involved in a verbal argument.

During the argument Preston allegedly struck Saenger in the face causing an injury to her mouth.

Preston was placed under arrest and taken into custody. He was placed to the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment.

A Monroe County teen was arrested for underage drinking.

State police at Fern Ridge said Conor Patrick Kelly, 18, of Tannersville, was arrested about 1:05 a.m. on Sunday, July 8, along Cross Country Lane in Jackson Township.

A Philadelphia resident and her son, an inmate at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Mahanoy, Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, were arrested at the prison recently on drug and other charges.

State police at Frackville said Tameeka R. Hawkins, 40, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-marijuana, possession, and contraband into a prison.

Her son, David La-Qill Sparks, 23, was charged with criminal solicitation and two counts of criminal conspiracy.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a burglary at a Carbon County residence.

Troopers said a home at 752 Towamensing Trail, Penn Forest Township, was entered and copper piping was removed from a crawl space. The break-in occurred sometime between May 28 and June 18. Troopers did not list the home owner.

State police at Frackville are investigating the theft of a large amount of cash from a vehicle.

Troopers said the incident occurred along Arch St., in Ringtown.

An unlocked vehicle was entered sometime between 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, and 10 a.m. on Monday, and taken was $1,000 and a revolver.

Troopers did not identify the victim but said several leads are being investigated.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a burglary at a Schuylkill work site.

Troopers said the incident occurred at Blackwood Inc., located at 12 Tremont Rd., in Tremont Township. Unknown criminals arrived at the scene in a pickup truck and proceeded to a work site where a camper was located.

They then broke open a lock on the door to gain entry. Once inside the criminals removed a Schumacher instant power battery pack and a Lincoln 18V grease gun.

Also removed was a hose from within the camper and attached it to a nearby storage tank for diesel fuel.

A Schuylkill County man is facing charges following an incident at his residence.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Leonard Peiffer, 57, of Lovers Lane, Pine Grove Township, got involved in an altercation with Karen Hoy, 47, of that address, during which he allegedly pushed her down a flight of stairs causing her to lose her balance. She was not injured.

Peiffer was charged with harassment, troopers said.
