State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft incident at a Schuylkill County development.

Mellany Wagner reported that someone removed two fishing rods and a navigational light from her boat that was docked at Lake Wynonah in Wayne Township.

The incident occurred sometime between July 14-16.

A Lebanon man is facing a charge of theft by deception for an incident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Bradford T. Curran, purchased merchandise at Moyer's Car Care Center, 102 SR183, in Wayne Township, on July 10, totaling $53.75, using a personal check.

The check was drawn on a closed account, troopers said.

Two Carbon County crashes had led to charges of driving under the influence (DUI) pending against the drivers.

State police at Lehighton said a crash occurred about 9:40 p.m. on July 9 along Church Road at SR903 in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said John W. Neff, 56, of Lehighton, was driving a 1999 Dodge pickup truck when he failed to negotiate sharp left curve in the road as he approached the intersection. The truck left the road and struck several small trees along the berm.

A Monroe County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred on July 8 about 9:40 p.m.

State police at Lehighton said Robert V. Toth, 46, of Kunkletown, was encountered along Robinhood Drive, in Robinhood Lakes, in Polk Township. He was in violation of a protection from abuse (PFA) order. At the time he was located, troopers said, he was driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol. He was taken into custody and transported to the barracks for processing. At the barracks Toth became unruly and was aggressive. He was subdued, troopers said.

A Monroe County driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 9:59 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, along Interstate 78 in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Habybatou Barry, 24, of Tobyhanna, was driving a 2001 Audi A4 eastbound when she began to experience unknown engine problems and as a result began to merge right in an attempt to make it to the right shoulder of the road.

While in the center lane her vehicle came to a stop and was struck in the rear by a 2008 Honda Ridgeline truck driven by Roman A. Urbanczuk, 52, of Bethlehem.

A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 2:17 a.m. on Saturday, July 16.

State police at Fern Ridge said Ronald E. Kircher Jr., of Penn Forest Township, was stopped along SR903 in Kidder Township, for unsafe driving. He showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests.

He was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Criminal charges were filed against Phillip McArdle, 20, of 226 Fern Street, Jim Thorpe, for possession of drug paraphernalia. The incident occurred on June 16 at 6:42 p.m. in the 500 block of Delaware Avenue.

Criminal trespass

Citations were filed against four 14-year-old Palmerton males and a 12-year-old Palmerton male for criminal trespass. The violations occurred on April 24 at 6:57 p.m. in the 200 block of Lehigh Avenue.

A Schuylkill County driver, who was involved in a one vehicle crash on June 26, is now facing a drunk driving charge.

Alice A. Correa, 49, of New Philadelphia, was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile Alero along SR209 in Blythe Township about 4:51 p.m., just outside Cumbola, when she said she swerved the vehicle to avoid a tree branch. The car left the road and collided into a utility pole. She was taken to a Pottsville hospital for treatment. At the time of the crash, troopers said, Correa would be cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

A Hometown man faces charges after police discovered him slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle on Saturday morning.

Officers were investigating a vehicle parked off to the side on Lafayette Avenue at 7:58 a.m. and found Joseph C. Benny Jr. in a highly intoxicated state. Benny was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center- S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for blood tests.

Charges are pending blood test results.

State police at Lehighton reported the arrest of five persons for harassment in two separate incidents.

On July 8 about 7:13 p.m. troopers responded to 188 Ashley Lane, in East Penn Township, Carbon County, for a report of a harassment incident. On scene troopers said they learned that Tabitha Marie Masterson, 23, Autumn Elizabeth Graver, 24, and Jamie Ann Graver, 25, all of Lehighton, had been involved in a physical altercation with each other. The three were issued citations for harassment, troopers said.
