A Tamaqua man faces drug-related charges after a search warrant was executed at his apartment on Feb. 2.

Rush Township and Tamaqua police were at 115 W. Rowe St. at 12:45 p.m. to execute a warrant issued to township police in connection with an earlier case.

A Tamaqua woman has been cited following a domestic incident in the borough on Valentine's Day.

Patrolman Peter Wysochansky was dispatched to 220 Orwigsburg St. at 6:30 p.m. On scene he met Patrolman Thomas Rodgers, who had already separated the feuding parties, identified as Corey Vanetten, 34, and Allison Jade Sanders, 32. When Rodgers first arrived at the home he observed Sanders punching Vanetten in the face.

A vehicle stolen of the lot of a Schuylkill County car dealership was quickly found when it was discovered missing by using the OnStar GPS unit built into the vehicle.

State police at Frackville said a 2012 Chevrolet Volt was stolen from the lot of Vito Rinaldi Chevrolet, located at 649 Gold Star Highway, in Mahanoy Township, on Friday, Feb. 17, about 7 p.m. It was discovered missing about 8:30 a.m. Saturday and a short time later located at 19th and Market streets., in Ashland, using the car's GPS unit, troopers said.

A fire that caused damage to a Schuylkill County home has been ruled arson.

State police at Frackville said a fire was discovered about 11:25 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, on the back porch at 412 Washington St., in Auburn. Firefighters were able to confine the damage to the porch. The home is presently unoccupied and was the home of the late Roxanne Katz.

This is the second arson fire in Auburn since Feb. 2, troopers said. A fire occurred on that date at Sixth and Pear Alley and destroyed a garage.

A Monroe County man was jailed this week for making threats to his wife.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 3:39 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, Shaquan Ambrose, of Tobyhanna, came to police headquarters and reported that her husband, Derrel Ambrose, 34, of Long Pond, was threatening her life and sending her pictures of a firearm.

Police went to Ambrose's residence, at 126 Hazelnut Court, and made contact with him.

A Tamaqua man was lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, after he was arrested on domestic violence charges. Borough police were dispatched to 1 S. Lehigh St., multiple times that day, with the incidents spanning two shifts.

A vehicle stop by members of the Pocono Mountain Regional police has led to drug charges against the driver and a passenger.

Police said a stop was made about 8:12 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, along Summit Avenue, at the Salvation Army store parking lot, in Pocono Summit, Coolbaugh Township, for a vehicle code violation.

The driver was identified as Samuel Gaston, 21, of Swiftwater.

A search of the vehicle and passenger, Kenneth Benitez, 25, of Jessup, was conducted. Found was marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

A Lehigh County teen was killed in a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 7:09 p.m. on Thursday. State police at Fogelsville said the accident occurred in the area of 6477 Palm Road, in Lower Milford Township.

A truck tractor with semi-trailer combination caught fire Thursday, Feb. 16, along Interstate 81 in Frailey Township, Schuylkill County, resulting in four new automobiles being destroyed.

State police at Frackville said the incident occurred about 7 p.m. as the rig was being operated southbound, when a mechanical issue with the trailer caused the fire.

As a result the four new autos were incinerated and at least four others sustained damages.

A Luzerne County man has been charged with violating a protection from abuse (PFA) order.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Michele Mattioli-Kulick, 56, of Bear Creek Township, reported that on Tuesday, Feb. 14, about 7:54 pm. she was visiting family along Long Pond Road, in Long Pond, when her husband, Robert Kulic, 63, of Bear Creek Township, called the home multiple times. He then began sending text messages to her which put her and her two children in fear. The contact by Kulic with his wife was a violation of a PFA order issued by the Luzerne County court.
