A Schuylkill County man was jailed recently for an intimidation incident.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said troopers responded to the Hess service station located along SR125 in Pine Grove Township about 7:15 a.m. on Dec. 2 to a report of a harassment/intimidation of a victim complaint.

On scene troopers learned that Barry Edward Jacoby Jr., 39, of 23 Union St., Pine Grove, confronted Benjamin Peter Fridirici, 34, of 398 Saylor St., Schuylkill Haven. Troopers said Fridirici had previously had assault charges filed against Jacoby.

Two teens were cited for an incident that occurred in the cafeteria of the Palmerton Area High School in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at Lehighton said a 17-year-old male from Kunkletown and a 14-year-old female from Palmerton, exchanged words about 1:05 p.m. on Nov. 30. During the incident the female poured a beverage on the male while he attempted to strike her and threw a garbage can lid at her.

Both were issued citations for harassment, troopers said.

A PennDOT truck was struck by another vehicle along Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County.

State police at Fern Ridge said Brian Switay, of Port Monmouth, N.J., was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Impala westbound in the left lane about 2:34 p.m. on Nov. 28 and approaching a merge point into the right lane traffic only.

Troopers said Switay failed to move into the right lane and the front of his car hit the rear of a 2004 Interndational truck being used by PennDOT for traffic control. John Switzer, of Pocono Pines, was operating the truck.

A Schuylkill County teen is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and other counts following a crash that occurred about 10:55 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, along Grove St., in Kline Township.

State police at Frackville said a 17-year-old juvenile from McAdoo was operating a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt eastbound when the car left the roadway and traveled into the front yard at 101 Grove St. The car continued northeast about 85 feet through the grass before striking a parked 2004 Oldsmobile Alero in the driveway of the residence.

Rush Township police have cited a Boyertown woman after she allegedly took merchandise from the Hometown Commons Walmart.

Alyssa M. McCarroll, 23, allegedly took merchandise valued at $106.24 from the store on Nov. 29. The incident reportedly happened at 8:50 p.m.

Also cited by police for retail theft was Linda K. Sibble, 23, of Weatherly. Sibble allegedly stole multiple items from the store at 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 29. The items were valued at $264.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing charges, including hit-and-run, according to state police at Frackville.

Troopers said Cordero S. Labella, 24, of Mahanoy City, driving a 1992 Eagle Talon, stopped at the intersection of Walnut and Wyoming sts., in Schuylkill Township, about 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 26. Troopers said the Talon's engine stalled and the vehicle drifted backward into a home on Walnut St. and a parked 2002 Dodge Neon.

Labella then fled the scene, troopers said.

He will be charged with several motor vehicle code violations, troopers added.

A Tamaqua woman was cited by police last Monday after she was found walking along SR209 in a highly intoxicated state.

Tamaqua police were dispatched to the roadway at 8:32 p.m. for a reported pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of the former Jamesway Plaza. On scene they found Roxanne Counterman, 38, of 115 Coal St., being propped up against the guide rail by a younger woman.

Counterman had not been struck by a vehicle but had exited a car driven by the younger woman and was refusing to get back inside insisting she wanted to walk.

A Schuylkill County teen was struck by a vehicle, did not immediately report the incident, and claims the driver fled the scene. State police at Frackville said the incident occurred between 11:15 and 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, along Raven Run Road, near the SR54 intersection, in West Mahanoy Township.

Troopers said Adam Jevelle, 18, of Ringtown, said he was at the above stated location to meet a friend and was walking across the road when a vehicle struck him and the driver failed to stop.

Two women were recently cited by Tamaqua police after they individually passed bad checks at Shafer's Pharmacy, 11 Center St.

Andrea Joy Chando, 32, of 303 Mulberry St., Tuscarora, issued check number 218 to the pharmacy on Aug. 31 in the amount of $24.99.

The check was returned marked as "insufficient funds."

Jeanette Lynn Hadesty, 30, of 362 W. Kline Ave., Lansford, issued check number 1041, in the amount of $169.45, to the pharmacy. The check was returned marked as "insufficient funds."

Citations for bad checks were issued on Nov. 30.

A large quantity of lottery tickets was reported stolen in a Carbon County burglary.

State police at Lehighton said the incident occurred at the Sunoco Food Mart at 7435 Interchange Rd., Towamensing Township.
