State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said a 17-year-old Minersville boy who is a student at the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29 school in Norwegian Township will be charged with institutional vandalism after an incident on Dec. 19 at 11:12 a.m. at the school.

Police said the boy was upset about a school issue and left his assigned classroom. While walking through the hallways, he punched, kicked and head-butted six different holes in different walls throughout the school.

Police said he was restrained by school staff.

Mark Cunning, 27, of Mt. Pocono is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence and driving without a license after an incident at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 on Route 611 in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Route 611 and attempted to stop it. The driver pulled into the Bailey's parking lot at which time police observed him exit the vehicle and flee into the lot.

Joshua M.Cooper, 24, of Pottsville, was cited by state police at the Frackville barracks for driving too fast for conditions after a one-vehicle crash at 9:14 a.m. Dec. 18 on Route 61 in Blythe Township.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Subaru northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The car began to spin counter-clockwise, traveling onto the east shoulder and striking a guardrail. It continued to travel northeast, spinning counter-clockwise and came to rest facing northeast and blocking the passing lane of Rt. 61.

Cooper was uninjured.

Two persons escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7;36 p.m. Dec. 17 on the ramp from Interstate 78 to State Route 100 in Upper Macungie Township.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Gustavo Herrera, 61, of Reading, was driving the 2000 Toyota Tundra on the ramp when he failed to negotiate a curve. Police said he was traveling too fast for conditions and lost control of the vehicle, which spun counter-clockwise, left the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned, coming to rest on its roof facing south.

Public drunkenness

Criminal charges were filed against Richard Burnet, 44, no current address, for persistent disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. The incident occurred on Dec. 3 at 8:04 p.m. in the 200 block of Alley E.

A citation was filed against Dakota Procyk, 23, of 5471 Sell Road, Schnecksville, for public drunkenness. The violation occurred on Dec. 9 at 1:05 a.m. in the 900 block of Delaware Avenue.

A criminal mischief incident that happened between 9 p.m. Dec. 13 and 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at a residence in Lower Macungie Township is being investigated by state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

Police said the victim is William J. Mooney, 70. He told police someone arrrived at his residence and cut a string of Christmas lights with an unknown object.

Jamie Nicole Winters, 18, of Girardville, will be charged with hit-and-run by state police at the Frackville barracks as a result of an accident at 3:05 p.m. Dec. 19 on West Main Street in Girardville.

Police said she was driving a 1998 Saturn SI eastbound on Main Street when it struck the rear of a parked 1999 Ford F-150 that was legally parked. Police said she continued eastbound on Main Street, failing to stop after the crash.

Police said she was uninjured.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said employees of the Wawa store in Lower Macungie Township found a loaded handgun magazine at that store between Dec. 10-14.

Police suspect the magazine was lost by a customer inside the store. Police said the owner needs to contact them within the next 30 days or the property will be destroyed.

Alexis Espinosa-Monell, 27, of Allentown, is facing a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol filed against her by state police at the Fogelsville barracks.

Police said she was stopped at 3:44 a.m. Dec. 9 while driving on Hamilton Boulevard and was taken into custody after showing signs of impairment.

She was transported to the Lehigh County DUI Center for processing.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks were summoned Nov. 18 at 3:06 p.m. to investigate an attempted suicide in Lower Milford Township.

Police said a 31-year-old male from new Tripoli is the victim. He attempted to jump off a bridge.

Police said he accessed Interstate 78 westbound by way of State Route 309 via foot and scaled the northern concrete barrier, remaining atop it and contemplating jumping onto Route 309 for the purpose of committing suicide.
