On July 20, Rush Township police filed charges against seven individuals from an incident that occurred at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Hometown.

Charged with underage drinking were a 17-year-old female from Walnutport (also charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana), 14-year-old female from Schnecksville, 14-year-old male, 17-year-old female, 13-year-old female, 17-year-old female (also charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana), and 19-year-old Aaron Marlow, all of Slatington.

Tamaqua and Ryan Township police assisted.

Becca A. Thomson, 19, Coaldale, and Candice Tejera, 19, Lansford, are facing underage drinking charges after Rush Township Police were called to the 100 block of Claremont Avenue on the night of July 16 to check on a dog bite victim. Police then discovered the two were consuming alcohol.

A New Jersey man is facing charges following a paintball shooting incident. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 1:19 a.m. on Sunday, July 22, along Five Mailbox Road.

On June 18, Tamaqua police made a vehicle stop of a black Volkswagen Jetta driven by Derek Krapf, 24, of MaryD.

Police stated that Krapf was pulled over because his driving privileges were suspended. His front passenger, Anthony Pascoe, was taken into custody for a warrant out of adult probation.

While officers were taking Pascoe into custody Krapf drove off from the vehicle stop.

Charges were filed against Krapf on July 20 for two counts of driving while suspended and fleeing and eluding police.

Officer Matt Houser is the investigating officer.

State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a burglary and several theft incidents.

The break-in occurred at a unoccupied residence at 231 Wintergreen Court, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. About 6:10 p.m. on July 19 forced entry was made through the front door. The action activated the alarm and the intruders fled without anything being taken. The home is owned by Michelina J. Hubner, 63, of Stroudsburg.

State police at Lehighton reported on citations issued by troopers.

On July 19 about 11:50 a.m. at the intersection of SR895 and Cedar St., in Bowmanstown, Andrew J. White, 44, of Bowmanstown, became angry at PennDOT workers, who were performing road work at that location, due to stopped traffic.

White stopped his vehicle abruptly causing a traffic hazard and allegedly proceeded to yell and threatened several PennDOT employees.

State police at Frackville reported on two driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers.

On Friday, July 20, about 8:40 p.m. troppers stopped Cody E. Pehala, 19, of Drums, Luzerne County, along Interstate 81 in East Union Township.

He was found to be under the influence and was taken to the barracks for a breath test. The test revealed he was over the legal limit of .08 percent.

Pehala is facing DUI and motor vehicle code violations, troopers said.

A Carbon County driver was cited after being involved in a two vehicle crash about 8:10 a.m. on July 19 at the driveway of the Chick-Fil-A restaurant in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Hans Roehrich, 62, of Macungie, operating a 2004 Toyota Scion, was stopped in the right lane at the driveway into the restaurant with John A. Bukics, 46, of Jim Thorpe, driving a 2001 Ford Focus, behind him.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes probed by troopers on Schuylkill County roads.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 6:09 p.m. on Friday, July 20, along SR501 (Bethel Road), in Pine Grove Township. Troopers said Heather L. McMillin, 24, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound and attempting to negotiate a left curve. When the Jeep entered the curve it started to fish tail and swerved into the southbound lane. The Jeep then swerved back to the northbound lane and then struck the guard rail on the north shoulder.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a two vehicle crash about 1:45 p.m. on July 19 along SR209 in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said John J. McKay, 69, of Mehoopany, Wyoming County, operating a 2009 Subaru, and Larry T. Chen, 63, of Marlboro, N.J., driving a 2008 Acura, were southbound when Chen came to a stop for traffic awaiting to merge onto Hideaway Hills Road. McKay failed to stop and the front of his vehicle struck the rear of Chen's.

No one was injured. Troopers cited McKay for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
