A Monroe County woman was arrested after a traffic stop resulted in a DUI charge.

State Police at Lehighton said Cheyenne Michael Ramos, 18, of Reeders, was stopped at around 2:20 a.m. Wednesday along State Route 209 northbound north of HTY Road, Polk Township.

Ramos was stopped for a vehicle code violation. The traffic stop yielded that the operator was DUI, and was arrested.

A cabin in Carbon County was damaged after five juveniles from Jim Thorpe ransacked it.

State Police at Lehighton said the burglary occurred at a cabin located at Stoney Creek Road, at Unionville Road, Penn Forest Township, at around 4 p.m. July 29. The victim was Hugh L. Dishman, 75, of Salisbury, MD.

The actors were discovered through further investigation.

Charges will be filed through Carbon County Juvenile Court.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of a truck from a Schuylkill County business.

Troopers said a 1997 Ford F250 extended cab V8 power-stroke diesel truck, green/gray in color, was stolen from Pine Grove Auto Sales' parking lot in Pine Grove Township. The truck was stolen from time between 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, and 8 a.m. on Sunday.

Lehigh Township police in Northampton County will be adding additional patrols on Wednesday, Oct. 24, during the hours of school bus operation and monitoring school bus routes and stops. It is part of the statewide 16th annual Operation Safe Stop.

Police urge all motorists to be familiar with the school bus stopping laws and share in this child safety initiative.

A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 9:55 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, along SR534 at Jonas Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County.

State police at Lehighton said Joseph Green, 45, of Palmerton, is facing the charge after being involved in a rear-end type crash at the time and location stated.

A criminal mischief incident in Monroe County remains under investigation.

State Police at Lehighton said sometime on Aug. 28, unknown actors cut the power wires to the Polk Township Fire Company siren.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary at a Carbon County residence and also probing theft incidents.

The break-in occurred at 24 Pool Drive, in Penn Forest Township. Troopers said an air conditioner was removed from a front window to gain entry. Once inside the criminals removed cash, jewelry, alcohol, and DVDs. The incident occurred sometime overnight of Oct. 18-19. The home is owned by Thomas Planco, 66, of Little Neck, N.Y.

Four persons were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle crash at 3:47 p.m. Oct. 19 on Center Street in Frailey Township, Schuylkill County, according to state police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks.

Police said Ryan J. Donmoyer, 34, of Donaldson, the driver of one of the vehicles, sustained "major injuries" while Wayne A. Kimmel Sr., 47, and Clair W. Kimmel, 19, both also of Donaldson, and Kyle Bender, 15, of Branchdale, suffered minor injuries.

A Carbon County woman is facing charges following an incident that occurred about 9:37 p.m. on Oct. 18 at 56 Stoney Ridge Road, Palmerton, in Lower Towamensing Township.

State police at Lehighton said Danielle Rae Hoppes, 28, and Brandon David Strohl, 27, both of that address, became involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation Hoppes allegedly scratched Strohl in the facial area causing injuries.

She was placed under arrest for simple assault and harassment. She was lodged in the county prison in Nesquehoning, pending arraignment, troopers said.

A Monroe County man escaped injury after his vehicle struck a deer on Thursday.

State Police at Lehighton said Christopher Stoner, 37, of Stroudsburg, was operating his 2004 Mazda Tribute south on Old Route 115, 98 feet north of Playground Road, at about 5:58 p.m. when he struck a deer.

Stoner was not injured. His lap and shoulder belt were used.
