A former Schuylkill County funeral director has been charged with theft for allegedly taking a prepayment for a funeral and using the monies for his own purposes.

State police at Frackville charged William F. McDonald Jr., 43, of 403 W. Main St., Girardville, with one count each of theft by deception and theft by failing to make required disposition of funds received.

Troopers said Lenore Breinich contacted McDonald in November 2007 to prepay for burial expenses upon her death.

She passed away on Oct. 16, 2012.

A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 9:55 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, along SR222 at Millcreek Road, in Upper Macungie Township.

State police at Fogelsville said Ankur Singh, 44, of Breinigsville, was stopped for a traffic violation.

He was found to be under the influence and was placed under arrest.

Troopers said the DUI charge is pending blood test results.

State police at Frackville reported investigating a crash involving a tractor trailer rig and a Jeep Wrangler at the entrance to the Highridge Industrial Complex in Cass Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Zachary Weist, 19, of Frackville, was operating a 2005 Jeep Wranger southbound on Highridge Park Road and failed to see a 2012 Freightliner tractor with trailer entering the road from Interstate 81 off ramp due to heavy fog. The rig was operated by Robert Sensenig, 58, of Willow Street, Lancaster County.

A Lancaster County driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 81 in New Castle Township, Schuylkill County. The crash occurred about 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.

State police at Frackville said Scott D. Garcia, 34, of Mount Joy, was driving a 2009 Acura northbound and entered onto the exit ramp at SR61. While on the ramp Garcia lost control of the car which went off the right shoulder and struck the guide rail.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a criminal mischief incident recently in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the driver's side window on the 2000 Chevrolet Blazer of Timothy Reed, 26, of Pottsville, was shattered while parked at 200 Walnut St., Diener's Hill, East Norwegian Township. Troopers said unknown criminals threw three cans of beer at the vehicle.

The incident occurred between 9:45 and 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10. The suspects were seen fleeing west on Walnut St.

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Monday, Feb. 11, after he violated a protection from abuse (PFA) order.

State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the suspect as Joseph Francis Krasnitsky, 46, of Pottsville.

According to troopers Krasnitsky made contact with a friend of Linda Lou Flail, 49, of Pottsville, who had the PFA order, at her place of employment at the Fairlane Village Mall, in Norwegian Township. He made a threat of Flail and told the friend to pass it along to the victim.

Two Lehighton residents were cited for public drunkenness.

Borough police said Paul D. Whitehead, 42, and Jennifer Rimsky, 42, both of 321 N. Center Alley, were charged following an incident that occurred just after midnight on Saturday, Feb. 9, in the vicinity of the 200 block of N. East Alley.

A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred early Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Upper Macungie Township police said they responded to the Starlite Dinner, located along SR100, about 2:05 a.m. to a report of a male yelling at patrons and threatening employees. The male left the diner operating a pickup truck prior to the arrival of officers.

Police located the suspect truck in the area of Tilghman Street and Blue Barn Road.

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 5:06 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10, they were called by Indian Mountain Lakes security concerning an intoxicated driver attempting to gain entry to the community along Mountain Road.

Police responded to the scene and learned the driver in question almost struck the guard shack at the entrance.

A Monroe County man was jailed over the past weekend as the result of a domestic incident.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said about 10:20 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, they received a call from the county communications center to make contact with Jean Marie Fitzpatrick-Tanner, of 41 High St., Mount Pocono, in reference to a domestic incident. Mrs. Tanner advised police she had been assaulted at her residence by her husband, Daniel Tanner, 39.

Police noted Mrs. Tanner had several bruises over her arms and a cut on the top of her head with dried blood.
