A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

State police at Lehighton said Brian Kenny, 33, of Lehighton, was stopped about 10:35 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Walnut and South sts., in Jim Thorpe, for several traffic violations. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

He was transported to the Lehighton hospital for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated the troopers.

A one vehicle crash occurred about 12:19 a.m. on Jan. 10 along Kunkletown Road in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Anna E. Devivo, 18, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2003 Mazda Tribute eastbound when it left the road and overturned. Devivo was not injured.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roads recently.

A two vehicle crash was reported about 3:32 p.m. on Jan. 9 along Mill Creek Avenue, in East Norwegian Township. Troopers said Joanne M. Elrod, 70, of Saint Clair, was stopped for a stop sign when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Myung K. Ko, 20, of Saint Clair.

Ko and passenger Travis Evans, 19, of Pottsville, Elrod and her passenger, Brandon Elrod, 21, of Saint Clair, were all not injured.

Criminal charges were filed against Andrew Tyahla Sr., 42, of 245 Avenue B, Palmerton, for retail theft, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness. The incident occurred on Dec. 15 at 9:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Delaware Avenue.

Criminal charges were filed against David Rowe, 52, of 757 Church Street, Palmerton, for aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, and persistent disorderly conduct. The incident occurred on Dec. 28 at 10:35 p.m. at the above address.

State police at Frackville investigated a hit-and-run accident that occurred about 8:45 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, along Interstate 81 in Cass Township, Schuylkill County.

Nesquehoning police reported on the following citations being issued.

Chief Sean Smith cited Jonathan A. Jimenez, 29, of 780 Lakeside Drive, Baldwin, N.Y., with driving under suspension following an incident on Sunday, Jan. 6, at the intersection of state routes 209 and 93.

Also, the following citations were issued during the period of Jan. 2-8: two expired registration citations at Mermon and Catawissa sts., and state routes 93 and 209; passing in a no passing zone along SR209 and SR54.

Approximately $125 worth of damages resulted when someone used an ATV to run over two bushes on a Towamensing Township property on Jan. 1, state police at the Lehighton barracks said.

The victim is Suzanna Vaughn, 77, of 145 Vaughn Acres Lane in the township.

Police said at an unknown time, someone arrived at the above location on the ATV and proceeded to drive over two of the victim's burning bushes before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a burglary that happened between Dec. 28 and Jan. 1 at a residence in Ross Township, Monroe County.

The victim is Olivieri Innacio, 48, of Saylorsburg.

He reported someone arrived at his home at 281 Ramblewood Drive in the township and entered it via a rear door in the garage. Once inside, the actor(s) removed miscellaneous jewelry, a coin collection, a stamp collection and two handguns before fleeing the scene undetected.

A Monroe County man has been cited for harassment following an incident that occurred about 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, at 221 Evergreen Court, in Ross Township.

State police at Lehighton said Connor Purington, 20, of Saylorsburg, was cited for allegedly striking a 50-year-old male in the right eye. Troopers said Purington was lodged in the county prison in Snydersville after being cited.

One of two drivers involved in a crash in Schuylkill County on Thursday, Jan. 10, was flown by helicopter to a hospital. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 7:12 p.m. along Schwenks Road, east of Hill Drive, in Hubley Township.
