A pickup truck and a tractor with trailer were involved in a crash in Schuylkill County. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, along SR61 in North Manheim Township.

Troopers said Theodore J. Hill, 40, of Monroe, Ohio, was operating a 2006 Freightliner tractor with trailer northbound in the right lane while Michael T. Thompson, 32, of Pottsville, was driving a 1987 Ford F350 pickup truck northbound in the left lane.

A traffic stop led to charges against the driver and his passenger.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported about 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, officers stopped a Honda CRV along SR940 near Long Pond Road, in Pocono Summit, after observing several motor vehicle code violations.

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20, along Interstate 81, in West Mahanoy Township.

State police at Frackville said Bradley Moran, 25, of Ringtown, was stopped while northbound after troopers received several calls of an erratic driver.

State police at Frackville reported the arrest of "John Doe" for entering about 70 campers at a Schuylkill County location. The incident occurred abouat 10:50 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18.

Troopers said the campers were located in the area of 61 Millers Road, in North Union Township. Entry was gained to the campers by breaking windows and entry doors.

Once inside the suspect removed assorted items. The suspect was found by campground staff sleeping inside one of the campers that hand been broken into.

A Schuylkill County man was jailed over the weekend on numerous criminal counts including rape and sexual assault.

State police at Frackville identified the suspect as David W. Smith Jr., 46, of Gilberton.

Two Lackawanna County residents were jailed on Saturday on retail theft charges for an incident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said troopers were called to the Sears store in the Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, about 3:15 p.m. for a report of two persons in custody of store security for theft.

Troopers said Debra Ann Sacco, 56, of Scranton, and Danielle Marie Tommey, 38, of Old Forge, were observed placing various items in their purses and attempting to leave the store without paying for them.

A Schuylkill County man is facing a charge of harassment following an incident that occurred on Saturday, Nov. 19, about 1:32 a.m.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Michael J. Minrod, 44, of New Philadelphia, was charged after he allegedly made numerous telephone calls to the home of George A. Sleva, 58, and Pamela R. Sleva, 47, of 1066 Eagle Hill Rd., East Norwegian Township. The calls were made at an inconvenient hour and he left messages which served no legitimate purpose, troopers said.

An armed robber is being sought in Luzerne County. State police at Hazleton said the robbery occurred about 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the PNC branch bank on Susquehanna Blvd. (SR93), in Hazle Township.

Troopers said the manager of the Turkey Hill, located along SR93 at Airport Road, was making a deposit about a mile south of the market.

When she exited her vehicle to make the deposit she was confronted by a male in a hooded sweat shirt who had on a mask.

He shot her in the face with a BB gun. He then demanded the money.

Two males were arrested following a high speed chase that occurred in Luzerne County on Thursday afternoon.

State police at Hazleton said about 4:53 p.m. troopers attempted to make a traffic stop along Blue Ridge Trail at Alberdeen Road, in Dorrance Township. Troopers said the driver refused to stop despite the emergency lights and siren activated on the police cruiser.

A hit-and-run driver is being sought in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said a 1967 Ford Mustang, parked on a lot at the B&M Auto Repair at 954 Barnesville Drive, in Ryan Township, was struck by an unknown type vehicle which was possibly turning around in the driveway. The incident occurred sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 16, and 11:20 a.m. on Thursday.

Damages were termed light to the Mustang, to the hood and grill area.
