A Schuylkill County woman is facing charges after she was found operating a stolen vehicle.

State police at Frackville said Angela Kohl, 23, of Shenandoah, was stopped about 8:50 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, along SR61 southbound, south of the Schuylkill Mall, for operating a vehicle without the headlights on.

At the stop it was learned the 1990 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight she was driving was reported stolen out of Laureldale, Berks County. The vehicle is the property of Brock Thompson, 25, of Shillington.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating the theft of a dirt bike along with a burglary, both occurring at Schuylkill County locations.

Troopers said Brett Jared Hornberger, of 177 Railroad St., Cressona, reported his 1998 Kawasaki KX 250 bike, green and black in color, was stolen from under a house deck at 191 Railroad St. The theft occurred sometime between May 27 and June 3.

A Schuylkill County woman has been charged with access device fraud and theft for an incident that occurred on Tuesday, June 5, at the Fairlane Village Mall in North Manheim Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven allege that Maegan Elizabeth Azbell, 19, of Saint Clair, took the debit card of Sherry Lynn McCray, 31, of Pottsville, from her bag while at the mall then proceeded to use it to make purchases at the Subway, CVC pharmacy, and Rue 21 stores, totaling $600.

The Lehigh County coroner's office is seeking the next of kin of Teri L. Deemer, 45, of 1327 W. Chew St., Allentown.

Ms. Deemer died on Monday, June, 4, at the Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice Unit at 17th St., Allentown. Anyone with family information is asked to call the coroner's office at (610) 782-3426.

A Northumberland County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Monroe County.

State police at Swiftwater said Mark Andrew Bickhart, 34, of Milton, was stopped for an expired inspection sticker about 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, along Long Pond Road at SR115, in Tunkhannock Township. He showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for DUI. He was taken to the Fern Ridge barracks for a breath test, troopers said.

A drinking party in Monroe County has led to numerous arrests. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred on May 26 about 5:56 a.m. along Schochs Mill Rd., in the Brier Crest Woods development.

Police were dispatched to the area for a report of a loud party and the theft of street signs. Upon arrival officers observed numerous people under the age of 21 running from a home. These individuals were detained and identified.

During the course of the investigation the stolen street signs and pole were recovered and suspected marijuana was also recovered.

State police at Fern Ridge reported on several crashes investigated by troopers recently.

A rear-end type crash occurred about 2:43 p.m. on May 24 along SR209 in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, driven northbound by Samantha L. Wilson, 20, of Lehighton, rear-ended a 2007 Freightliner tractor with trailer operated by Jerzy Zubek, 52, of East Brunswick, N.J., who was stopped for traffic.

Troopers indicated Wilson was injured but did not state if she required medical attention.

State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a theft incident at a Schuylkill County business.

Troopers said Douglas James Brown, 42, of Schuylkill Haven, reported his cellular phone was removed from his lunch box while at work at Northeast Prestressed Products, located at 121 River St., in North Manheim Township.

The theft occurred sometime between 10 p.m. May 30, and 1:30 a.m. on March 1.

State police at Fern Ridge reported the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted by troopers along SR903 in Kidder Township, Carbon County, on Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10. The operation was conducted in conjunction with roving patrols.

The operation resulted in five motorists cited for driving under the influence (DUI), 52 summary traffic citations issued, 43 summary traffic warnings, and two summary criminal arrests for underage drinking.
