A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Friday on multiple criminal counts following an incident that occurred between 8 and 8:17 p.m. at 2002 E. Center St., Tremont, in Porter Township.

State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the suspect as Steve Lucas, 41, of Hegins.

Troopers said he has been charged with aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, careless driving, reckless driving, and driving without a license.

Edward D. Lefurge Jr., 43, of New Jersey, has been arrested for theft by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks for stealing a life-size cutout of race car driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Police said the incident happened at the Wawa store located at the intersection of routes 209 and 715 in Chestnuthill Township.

A Tamaqua man and woman were cited following an altercation in the unit block of Pine Street on June 6.

Justin Adam Gray, 21, and Shai Lynn Gray, 18, both of 126 Clay St., allegedly started a fight with Stephanie Harris, 20, and Martin Potter, 24, both of Tamaqua, shortly after midnight on that date.

The victims told police they were jumped by two people, who had been in a brown minivan, while in the area of 18 Pine St. Officers located the van, which was still parked on Pine Street, and identified the suspects as the Grays after interviewing numerous people in the area.

An access device fraud card in which a Saylorsburg man is the victim is being investigated by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks.

The victim is Glenn Orourke, 23, of 210 Sunnybrook Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

He told police someone used his credit card without permission and made purchases at various stores with the total charges exceeding $4,000.

The incident(s) happened between midnight June 14 and midnight June 20.

Nesquehoning police are investigating an attempted break-in at a residence.

On Friday, June 21, about 10:28 a.m. Police Chief Sean Smith was dispatched to the home of Helen and Arthur Applegate, 201 W. Railroad St., to a report of a burglary. On scene Mrs. Applegate told Smith that about 10:20 a.m. observed that the screen was cut in several areas of a window and the screen was bent outward.

A Monroe County resident is facing a dog law violation.

State police at Lehighton said Jamie Ayala, 67, of Saylorsburg, was walking a dog in the area of 1554 Brian Rd., in Saylorsburg, when it attacked a 10-year-old male.

Troopers said charges are pending in the case.

State police at Lehighton reported on the following driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers.

Troopers said Joshua Noel Yorgey, 32, of Lehighton, was stopped about 9:52 a.m. on June 19 along Union Hill Road, in Franklin Township, Carbon County, for a vehicle code violation. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. The charge is pending blood test results, troopers added.

State police at Lehighton are investigating a reported assault incident.

Troopers said Jason Joshua Labish, 33, of Kunkletown, reported he was attacked outside his resident at 100 Hawk Rd., Lower Towamensing Township, about 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 22, by an unknown person who then fled the area.

Two persons were injured in a one vehicle crash that occurred about 9:47 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, along SR61 in Blythe Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Paige M. Marion, 19, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2007 Saturn Ion northbound and negotiating a curve when, for unknown reasons, she veered onto the shoulder. She attempted to steer back onto the road but her vehicle spun 100 degrees clockwise while sliding across both northbound lanes and onto the right shoulder.

A Lansford man has been cited by Tamaqua police following a traffic stop on May 26.

Patrolman Charles Blesse was on patrol at 8:13 p.m. when he received a call about an erratic driver traveling east on Broad Street. The suspect vehicle was a black Mazda Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), which Blesse observed in the area of Broad and Patterson sts. The SUV left its normal lane of travel and almost struck a parked car before the officer could initiate a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Neil Brian Kennedy, 55, of 10 W. Bertsch St.
