A Lansford woman was cited by Rush Township police after a shoplifting incident at the Hometown Commons Walmart on Saturday, Sept. 25.

Nicole Raposo, 27, allegedly removed merchandise valued at $36.88 from the store.

She was charged with retail theft.

Two Monroe County teens are facing burglary counts.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Friday, Sept. 23, about 1:30 p.m., they responded to 7139 Robinwood Drive, in Tobyhanna, Coolbaugh Township, for a burglary in progress. Upon arrival officers were told by the homeowner that he walked in on a burglary at his residence and recognized one of the suspects from a prior contact. He provided police with information which led officers to the home of Calvin Devine, 18, of Tobyhanna, which is located in the same neighborhood.

Several acts of criminal mischief are being investigated by police in Jim Thorpe.

Police reported the incidents happened between Sept. 23-25 when someone shot out windows on several vehicles and also damaged a window of a business.

Police said the damage appears to have been caused by a BB gun. Police also believe all of the incidents are related.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following drug related arrests made by officers.

On Sunday, Sept. 25, about 12:40 a.m. a traffic stop was made along Interstate 380 north in Coolbaugh Township for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Robert Montanez, 20, of Somerset, N.J. While speaking with Montanez police said they observed indicators of narcotic use. A further investigation of the vehicle yielded a small amount of marijuana and related drug paraphernalia. Charges of possession and possession of drug paraphernalia will be filed, police said.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said they have cited Neil M. Moyer, of Pottsville, with a bad check count.

Troopers said Moyer issued a check to Ken's Tires, North Manheim Township, on May 20 for $244.86 which was drawn on a closed account.

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on three driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by officers recently.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, about 2:29 a.m. officers observed a Ford cargo truck strike mailboxes on Knob Road, in Mt. Pocono, and flee the scene. The van traveled north on SR611 where it almost struck a police vehicle at School St. Police then attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the operator refused to stop. A short, low speed pursuit then ensued and the van eventually stopped within the Snow Shoe Condo's parking lot after driving through the front lawn.

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Monday, Sept. 26, following a gun-pointing incident at his home.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred at 20 Hidden Acres Drive, in Washington Township, about 7:45 p.m. Troopers said Donald Wilcynski, 64, and Michele Wilczynski, 49, entered into a "mild" argument at their home. He then went into the bedroom of the home and retrieved a 9mm pistol. He then held it in his hand while threatening to do bodily harm to his wife.

A Lehigh County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a crash involving a Schuylkill County driver that occurred about 4:10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, along SR309 in Lynn Township.

State police at Fogelsville said David Eric Glaser, 40, of New Tripoli, was southbound and driving too fast for conditions and lost control of his vehicle. The car spun around and entered the oncoming lane of travel where it struck a vehicle driven northbound by a 38-year-old female from New Ringgold. No one was injured.

Tamaqua police have filed charges in a May incident involving an alleged drug overdose.

Officers were dispatched to 322 Clarke St. on May 13 to assist medical personnel with a possible overdose. The victim was found in an upstairs room and identified as Jamie Lynn Fritzinger, 31. Two syringes and a bent spoon were also found with Fritzinger.

Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia were filed this week with District Judge Stephen Bayer.

A large amount of jewelry was reported stolen from a Carbon County home. It was one of two theft incidents reported by state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said Derryck Griffith, 47, of 245 Brittany Drive, Valley View Estates, in Penn Forest Township, returned home about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, and saw an individual in the kitchen area. The intruder fled the home with a black garbage bag which contained about $12,000 worth of jewelry and watches.
