Speed was blamed for a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 4:25 p.m. on Monday, July 29, along Trachsville Hill Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Troy A. Bryfogle, 50, of Palmerton, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound and approaching a left hand curve. Bryfogle drove off the road and into a wood line for about 225 feet. The car struck a traffic sign, multiple small trees, and a utility pole. The car rolled one time counter-clockwise before coming to rest about 25 feet off the berm of the road.

State police at Frackville reported investigating a burglary and theft from a vehicle.

The break-in occurred at the residence of Joseph Webb, 35, of Raricks Road, Zion Grove, North Union Township. Entry to the home was made sometime on Wednesday, July 31, between 11:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Cash was removed, troopers said.

The vehicle break-in occurred along Interstate 81 in Delano Township. A 2000 International truck was parked in a construction zone when unknown criminals cut padlocks off the vehicle's rear door.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating two burglaries at two Monroe County locations.

The home of Lindsay E. Rake, 28, of 155 Weir Mountain Road, Kunkletown, Eldred Township, was entered via a rear deck door. Once inside the home the criminals ransacked the house in search of valuables. Taken was a PlayStation 3 and games. Troopers suspect young people were involved because of what was taken. The incident occurred sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Monday, July 29, while the victim was at work.

A Monroe County man is facing a charge of burglary and a related count following an incident that occurred about 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded to 4393 Upper Smith Gap Road, in Ross Township, for a report of a burglary in progress. On scene troopers met the victim, Elmer Seiler, 81, near the back garage door of the home. He said someone was inside his home.

Troopers entered the home and found Philip Seiler, 25, of 4437 Upper Smith Gap Road, who was identified as the grandson of the victim.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a crash in a Schuylkill County construction zone. The crash occurred about 5:34 a.m. today, Aug. 2, along SR61, a tenth of a mile south of Coal Mountain Road in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers said Bryan Hawk, 36, of Pottsville, was driving a 2007 Nissan Altima southbound in the single lane construction area when his vehicle impacted an attenuator along the west side. After impact the car turned clockwise and the left rear impacted the concrete divider along the east side, where it came to rest.

A Carbon County club has been cited by the Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state Liquor Control Board.

Sokol Citizens Club, 150 W. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, was cited for alleged infractions on April 20 and May 25 for the sale of alcoholic beverages to non-members.

Three Lehighton residents are facing drug charges following an incident that occurred on June 12.

Borough police said on the date listed they were called to the Mahoning Inn, along Blakeslee Boulevard, for a report of a disturbance.

As a result of an investigation police charged the following:

Jessie D'Amico, 19, of 473 N. Eight St., with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Schuylkill County couple is facing charges in Carbon County.

Lehighton police said Alicia Hibbler, 34, and Kenneth Hibbler, 38, both of 319 W. Atlantic St., Shenandoah, have been charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unsworn falsification to authorities, and criminal conspiracy.

A Lehighton man is facing several charges following an incident that occurred on June 22.

Borough police said about 2:49 a.m. they were called to the 200 block of N. First Street for a disturbance involving a male with a knife.

Through an investigation police said they have charged Jonathan Turner, 28, of 207 N. First St., Apt. C, with aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tamaqua police are investigating numerous reports of items being stolen from vehicles.

On July 25 alone seven unlocked vehicles were entered and rummaged through by thieves looking for anything valuable. Stolen items include cash, wallets, portable televisions, vehicle manuals and GPS units.

The targeted vehicles were parked in two different sections of town the North Ward and Dutch Hill.

Officers remind residents to remove valuable items from their cars and to lock the vehicles' doors.
