State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a crash in Slatington involving a stolen vehicle.

Police said a 2001 Ford Ranger was reported stolen from 458 Little Gap Road, Lower Towamensing Township, at 1:27 a.m. July 14.

The ownertold police someone took the black truck from behind his residence. The keys were in the unlocked vehicle, police said.

At 9:39 p.m. the same day, Slatington police were summoned to a crash in that borough where the stolen vehicle struck a garage and the driver fled the scene.

Palmerton Police reported on the following incidents:

Possession of drug paraphernalia: Steven Swartz, 28, Palmerton, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, for an incident July 6 in the 100 block of Avenue A.

A Port Carbon man will be cited by Tamaqua Police after an incident at Boyer’s Food Mart, 210 Cedar St. on July 10.

Officers were called to the store at 1:25 p.m. for a reported fight. Witnesses said a man who had been sitting on a bench outside the store suddenly got up, picked up a shopping cart, held it over his head and threw it at several people who had just left the store. The man was identified as Thomas Heiser, 36.

The cart struck a 1994 Honda Accord, causing damage to the rear brake light and bumper.

Marisol Elena Magobet, 38, was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, after state police at Lehighton responded to a simple assault incident at 6:39 p.m. July 7 at the intersection of Route 209 and Scenic Drive in Polk Township.

The victim is a 34-year-old man.

Police said they responded to a domestic violence incident at the above location, where the victim related he was shoved into the entertainment system by the woman. She was taken into custody and jailed.

Police said the victim suffered a laceration of the ear.

State Police at Lehighton reported the following:

• Police are investigating the theft of a chain saw from the backyard of a residence on the 200 block of Bear Creek Drive, Penn Forest Township.

The theft occurred between July 7-8.

• A 38-year-old woman from Polk Township is facing harassment charges as a result of an incident that happened between noon and 3 p.m. June 25 on the 100 block of Scenic Drive, Polk Township.

Police said the victim is a 34-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe, who said the Polk Township woman struck her in the arm during a verbal dispute.

A Tamaqua area man has been cited by McAdoo police after he was caught stealing from his employer.

Officers were contacted by management at the Fegley’s Mini Mart in McAdoo after video surveillance captured employee Anthony Reed, 19, printing out lottery tickets and taking merchandise and never paying for them.

Reed printed out the tickets and scanned them, but his cash register didn’t show any lottery tickets being bought during his shift. He did ring up the merchandise throughout the day, but then voided those sales at the end of his shift.

A Whitehall man was injured in a motorcycle crash at 10:39 a.m. July 5 on Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said John W. Singer, 64, was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono to be treated for suspected minor injuries.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Yamaha V Star that crashed after he lost control of it while attempting to round a left curve in the roadway.

Public drunkenness: Steven Swartz, 28, Palmerton, was charged with public drunkenness, for an incident July 4 in the 1200 block of Third Street.

Maximum gross weight: Adrian Demera-Encarnacio, 28, Union City, New Jersey, was charged for maximum gross weight, for an incident June 30 in the 100 block of Delaware Avenue.

Fernelli Navarro, 32, Patterson, New Jersey, was charged for maximum gross weight, for an incident July 5 in the 400 block of Delaware Avenue.

Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating the theft of a wallet at a Monroe County business.

Police said about 2:07 p.m. on Monday they were dispatched to Sunny’s Food Mart in Blakeslee, for a reported theft of a wallet. Police said the suspect is a white female driving a silver Ford Fusion.
