Brittany L. Walters, daughter of Craig and Helen Walters of Tamaqua, has been named to the Dean's List for the Fall semester at Penn State University, Berks Campus. A sophomore student, Walters earned a 4.0 grade point average, majoring in Elementary Education. The 2009 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School is a member of THON and the campus activity board.

Bauchspies

Kari Bauchspies, daughter of Jeffrey and Pamela Bauchspies of Lehighton, has been named to the dean's list for the Fall semester at Kutztown Univer-sity of Pennsylvania, where she attained a 4.0 grade point average and also graduated recently with a bachelor of science degree in biology with a concentration in organismal ecology. She is a 2006 graduate of Lehighton Area High School and is currently seeking a position in her field of study. Kari is the granddaughter of Wayne and Shirley Bauchspies and the late Dean and Betty Klotz, all of Lehighton.

Alexandra Wargo Nichols of Penn Forest Township, Jim Thorpe, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at USciences Philadelphia. Students achieving this status must have attained a semester GPA of 3.40 or above.

Alexandra is pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology with a concentration in the physician assistant program.

Murphy Bennett, a Tamaqua Area School graduate, has been named to the Dean's list at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for the fifth straight semester.

Bennett is a junior student, majoring in deaf education. She is in her second year as president of Sign In, a sign language performance group that performs to music. She is also a member of Phil Eta Sigma National Honor Society.

Bennett is secretary of the IUP women's rugby club which finished 22nd in the nation last season.

Murphy is the daughter of Rick and Debbie Bennett of Tamaqua.

Shubeck

Aric Shubeck, son of Mike and Jacki Shubeck of Summit Hill, has been named to the Dean's list at Shippensburg University for the fall semester. He maintained a 3.80 GPA.

Shubeck is a psychology major and a 2010 graduate of Panther Valley High School.

Laura Walser of Tamaqua, was named to Susquehanna University's Dean's list for the fall 2010 semester.

The dean's list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester. To qualify, students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Walser, a freshman majoring in spanish and secondary education, is a 2010 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Walser.

Guy Bowe of Tamaqua was named to Susquehanna University's Dean's list for the fall 2010 semester.

The dean's list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.4 or higher out of a possible 4.0 for the semester. To qualify, students must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours.

Bowe, a senior majoring in economics and accounting, is a 2007 graduate of Tamaqua Senior High School and the son of Jeffrey and Rea Bowe.

Kuzicki

Robert Kuzicki, a fourth grade student at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Lehighton, won the school level competition of the National Geographic Bee held Jan. 11 and a chance at a $25,000 college scholarship. The school level Bee, at which 10 student finalists answered oral questions, was the first round in the 23rd Annual National Geographic Bee. Kuzicki advances to the next level of competition, a written exam to determine state competitors.

Hunadi

Andrew Hunadi has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2010 semester at King's College in Wilkes-Barre. He is enrolled in the physician assistant program. He is a 2007 graduate of Palmerton Area High School. He is employed as an EMT with the Palmerton Community Ambulance. He is also an active volunteer with the Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company.

He is the son of Gregory and Carol Hunadi of Bowmanstown and the grandson of Walter and Rosaline Spack of Bowmanstown and of the late Andrew and Eleanore Hunadi of Nesquehoning.
