Stephens

Matthew Stephens of Tamaqua is one of four Wilkes University students to participate in the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) 57th Annual Tax Clinic on Nov. 19.

Stephens is a senior studying accounting. He is the son of George and Mary Ellen Stephens of Owl Creek.

The clinic, which was hosted by the Wilkes University's Sidhu School of Business and Leadership and PICPA, keeps professionals informed of recent developments in tax structure.

Army Reserve Sgt. Joshua T. Browning is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom or Enduring Freedom, respectively.

The soldiers return to Joint Base Dix-McGuire-Lakehurst, N.J., for debriefing, evaluations and out-processing procedures before returning to their regularly assigned Army Reserve or National Guard units.

Browning, a human resource specialist, is a member of the 336th Military Police Battalion, based in Pittsburgh. He has served in the military for two years.

Bruce Frassinelli of Schnecksville earned the top prize in column-writing in the annual Professional Journalists and Communicators of Oswego County (N.Y.) awards competition. This is the second year in a row that he has won first place in this category.

Frassinelli was cited for his column in Oswego County Business Magazine on ``Newspapers: What Happened to the Wall Between Advertising and Editorial?"

Air Force Airman Christopher J. Henry graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Grynkewich

Serge E. Grynkewich, II, currently President of International SOS (Philippines), Inc., was selected as a finalist in the Asia CEO Awards for Expatriates working in the Asia region.

The award ceremony, held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Manila on Nov. 10, is an annual event held to recognize leadership excellence in the Philippines.

Green has been mobilized and activated at Joint Base Dix-McGuire-Lakehurst, N.J., in preparation for deployment to serve in support of either Operation New Dawn or Operation Enduring Freedom. The soldier is a member of the 213th Personnel Company based at Fort Indianatown Gap, Annville.

Mundy

Staff Sgt. Adam R. Mundy, 266th Range Squadron, Gowen Field ANG in Mountain Home, Idaho has been named the Idaho Guardsman of the Year Award for 2009-2010. He was presented with the award on Oct. 29.

Staff Sgt. Mundy is the son of Kathleen Mundy-McGeehan, Tamaqua, and the late Robert L. Mundy. He has been in the military since 2002.

He is married to Staff Sgt. Morgan Craig-Mundy, who is also stationed at Gowen Field and works for the Idaho National Guard with the Counter Drug Department.

Mulligan-Lesisko, granddaughter of Margaret (Midge) Mulligan and the late John Mulligan, Mary Lesisko and the late William (Perk) Lesisko, has received her Master of Science in Applied Educational Psychology, School Psychology from the Graduate School of Bouve' College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University, Boston Massachusetts on September 2, 2010.

Army Pvt. Kevin R. Booth has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

He is the son of Colleen Booth of Hahns Dairy Road, Palmerton.
