Robert Keyser recently made dean's list in the College of Arts and Sciences at Drexel University with a 3.882 GPA.

Keyser, a freshman at Drexel, is majoring in International Area Studies and is a member of the Pennoni Honors College.

Keyser is a 2010 graduate of Palmerton Area High School.

He is the son of Carol and Peter Snyder.

Lt. Jerome Barron, U.S. Army, was awarded his "White Coat" during a recent ceremony at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Lake Erie. A member of the college's class of 2014, Barron was one of 270 medical and 140 pharmacy students who were presented with a white coat and stethoscope by the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Organization.

Misericordia University, Dallas, Pa., has announced the names of students in this area who have achieved the dean's list for the fall 2010 semester. A student at Misericordia University qualifies for the dean's list with a 3.55 grade point average or higher.

Jennifer Lynne Wood, a freshman at Wilkes University majoring in psychology, has been named to the Dean's List with a 4.0 GPA for the fall semester. Wood, a 2010 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, is the daughter of Thomas Wood, Tamaqua, and Robin Allen of Lake Ariel, and a granddaughter of Robert and Violet Wood of New Ringgold.

The Panther Valley Elementary School has announced the recipients of the Student of the Month Awards for December 2010. Certificates of Achievement were presented in each classroom, grades 1-5. As well as the certificates, each student also received a Super Kid Magnet and a meal coupon from McDonald's.

Students realize that it is a very special achievement and strive to achieve this recognition.

December's Students of the Month are: Grade One: Hannah Kane, Mallory Palmer, Chloe Kerestes, Marissa Bonetsky, Draeton Ferguson, Joshua Dearden and Paul Smith.

Danielle C. Kleckner of Towamensing Township, attainted the dean's list for the 2010 fall semester at East Stroudsburg University. She attained a 3.8 GPA.

She is the daughter of Deborah Kleckner and step-daughter of Scott W. Beers of Towamensing Township. She is a freshman pursuing a bachelor of science degree in athlectic training. She is a 2010 graduate of Palmertor Area High School.

She is the granddaughter of Mary Bauer of Slatington and Mr. and Mrs. Donavon Bauer of Schnecksville.

Lauren Moyer, daughter of Joe and Melanie Moyer of Hometown has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at Villanova University. She earned a grade-point average of 3.89.

A 2008 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, where she was co-salutaroian. she is majoring in marketing with a minor in accounting and business law. She is a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She is a Curvey scholar.

Lauren is the granddaughter of Mary Moyer of Tamaqua and Adele Lech of Coaldale.
