Mortgage foreclosures

The following actions were filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.

Susquehanna Patriot Bank, Box 639, Maugansville, Md., filed an action against Barry L. Shupp, 168 Sunrise Drive, Franklin Township, Lehighton, over property at that address. Sought is $163,485.56 and continuing interest.

Wells Fargo Bank, 3476 Stateview Blvd., Fort Mill, S.C., filed an action against Samuel R. Ciardi Jr., 344 Smithlane Rd., aka, Smith Lane, Lehighton, over property at that address. Sought is $385,483.73 and continuing interest.

Divorces granted

Shane W. Monk, of Tamaqua, was granted a divorce from Tara L. Monk, 411 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. They were married Feb. 14, 2003.

Clyde Leymeister was granted a divorce from Leisa Leymeister, both of Auburn. They were married June 20, 1981.

Robin L. Hubler was granted a divorce from Wade R. Hubler Sr., both of Gordon. They were married Aug. 2, 1976.

Candy L. Devine was granted a divorce from John R. Devine, both of Donaldson, Tremont Township. They were married June 5, 1982.

Credit defaults

Invite From President

Leo Haley, court attendant for Judge D. Michael Stine, has received an invitation from President Obama to be one of 16 members of the national chapter of Catholic War Vets to participate in the annual wreath laying on Memorial Day at the grave of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington Cemetery, Washington D. C.

Haley is also first vice president of the national chapter of Catholic War Veterans and has been commander of the Pottsville Catholic War Veterans Post for the past 14 years.

He is a veteran of World War II.

Divorce granted

Christine M. Deatrich was granted a divorce from John A. Deatrich, both of Pottsville. They were married Nov. 22, 2003.

Sentence drug dealer

Stephen M. Gaughan, 23, Shenandoah, who entered a guilty plea last Feb. 25 to drug charges was sentenced by Judge D. Michael Stine on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance to serve seven days to two years less one day in the county prison and since he served his minimum sentence was released on parole. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia he was given a concurrent 12 months probation sentence.

Auto crash suit

William Whiteman, 125 Pine Drive, Lehighton, filed a civil complaint against Jennifer McFarland, 2029 Crow Trail, Long Pond, over a auto accident that occurred on May 27, 2009, along Green St., at Hemlock Trail, in Franklin Township. It is alleged that a vehicle operated by the defendant collided into one driven by the plaintiff causing injuries detailed in the suit. Negligence is alleged and sought are damages "requiring compulsory arbitration" plus interest, costs and fees.
