bob ford/times news Jimmie Johnson has a busy weekend on tap.

LONG POND - Over the last 26 years, the NASCAR Cup Series races at Pocono Raceway have carried different names as well as sponsors.

The first Cup Series race held back on August 4, 1974 was known as the Purolater 500. Three years later, it was called the Coca Cola 500. Four years later, it was the Mountain Dew 500.

It was back in 1982 that a second Cup Series race in Long Pond was added to the season series and the name game began once again. At that time, the two races were known as the Van Scoy 500 and the Mountain Dew 500.

Things weren't going very well around the Red Bull Racing Team.

Mears ended Sunday's race 23rd. He spun off the track after his car touched Elliott Sadler's car on a restart on lap 159. Speed finished 20th.
