Egg hunt

Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for its Sunday School children.

The egg hunt will be on Sunday, April 1 at noon. Bring your own basket to gather eggs.

The next Lenten service will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at St. Matthew's UCC in Kunkletown. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Brian Holben.

There will be a soup and sandwich hour starting at 6:30 p.m.

The worship service begins at 7:30 p.m.

PVHS Musical

There are three opportunities to see the presentation of the Pleasant Valley musical, "Oklahoma," this coming weekend.

The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday; and at 2 p.m., Sunday.

Effort UMC will hold its next monthly contemporary service at 9:45 a.m., Sunday, March 18.

WPWC Meetings begin

After a two-month winter hiatus, the Western Pocono Women's Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 19 at the Effort Methodist Church.

This will be a social evening and a chance to catch up on the club's business.

Guest speaker will be Kathy Kuck, C.E.O. of Pocono Medical Center, who will discuss updates and issues pertaining to the hospital and how they affect this area.

PIC to meet

Pride in Chestnuthill (PIC) will be setting up dates for spring cleanups at its meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 8, at the Chestnuthill Township Municipal Building on Route 715.

Because of the relatively mild winter, the trash discarded by thoughtless drivers can be seen on the roadsides.

PIC extends its thanks to the homeowners who regularly pick up trash in front of their properties.

Since PIC is a small group of volunteers, consisting of mostly senior citizens, any help is appreciated.
