Mrs. Bush's Pet Show

Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home is looking for animals to participate in the sixth annual Pet Show on Aug. 7 at 2 p.m.

Animals are welcome with current updated shot records. Many prizes will be awarded for different categories and there is no fee to enter, but they ask that you bring along a pet item to donate to a local shelter (food, bedding, etc.).

Some categories will include smallest and largest pet, most talented, unique and many more.

Planning ahead

McMichaels UMC has let its congregation and friends know that already the church is collecting for Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.

For July, parishioners may bring hairpins, barrettes, headbands, rubber bands for hair, and nailclips. In August the request is for glue sticks, Scotch tape, rubber bands, small staplers and staples.

Effort UMC is also planning ahead. That church's UMW is collecting school supplies to make backpacks for the upcoming school year.

Indian Mt. Rod and Gun Club

Egg Shoot, rifle and gun, will be held on Sunday, July 22, starting at 11 a.m.

Indian Mt. is located mile north on Rt. 534 in Kresgeville.

Middlecreek Christian Church Vacation Bible School

VBS will be held from July 30-Aug. 3 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. It is open to kids 3-18.

St. Matthew's VBS

St. Matthew's UCC is still looking for volunteers to help with Vacation Bible School, to be held July 30-Aug. 3 from 9-11:30 a.m. If you would like to help or register your child, call Amy Burger at (570) 574-3465.

Please help Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network help those in need in our community. They are in need of cereal, peanut butter and jelly, nonperishable food items and sneakers (new or gently worn.) You can drop these items off at St. Matthew's UCC Monday, Wednesdays, Fridays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or at the First Niagra Bank in Kresgeville.
