Panther Valley Band Boosters

The next meeting of the Panther Valley Band Boosters will be at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, at the Panther Valley High School band room.

Methodist Charge

The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, Sept. 19, is as follows:

Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will officiate at both services.

The Senior Boxes will be distributed at the Methodist Church on Friday, Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Free dinner

The next free community dinner will be on Wednesday, Sept. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at the Methodist Church.

A Service of Healing will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19, during the 10:30 a.m. worship service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill.

Also on Sunday, the Confirmation class will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the church.

Slovak cemetery

A meeting of the Protestant Slovak Cemetery Association of Nesquehoning will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m., at the Zion Lutheran Church.

75th anniversary

St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Nesquehoning will celebrate is 75th anniversary with a service at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 19 at the church followed by a dinner at Penn's Peak.

Coaldale Lions meetings

The Coaldale Lions Club will resume its indoor meeting schedule this month.

The first meeting of the group will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and the second meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Both meetings will take place at the Viennese Villa in Coaldale and start at 5:45 p.m. President Robert E. Ames will preside.

Delinquent bills

Lansford Borough will be conducting the Delinquent Sewer Transmission collection shortly. Residents who wish to avoid further fees and possible water shut-off, are asked to remit their amount due to the borough office or mail it to Lansford Borough, P.O. Box 126, Lansford, Pa. 18232.

Lansford alumni

The Lansford Alumni will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Sports Zoo in Lansford.

On Sunday, Sept,12, the First Baptist Church will be having itssecond annual Old Time Revival Block Party.

The block party will be held at the entire block of 15 West Ridge Street in Lansford. There will be an outside service which starts at 11 a.m. for anyone that is interested.

The block party fun starts at 1 p.m. There will be music, games, rides, face painting, food, funnel cake and much more.

Coaldale Republican Party will host an end of the summer rally in support of this Fall's GOP candidates on Thursday, September 16 starting at 6 p.m. in the Coaldale Ambulance Building, Rte. 209, Coaldale.

State Senator Dave Argall, candidate for the 17th United States Congressional District, and Representative Jerry Knowles, candidate for re-election to the 124th Legislative District of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, will be in attendance and speak at 7 p.m.

The regular monthly meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary to Nesquehoning Memorial VFW Post 8008 will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 14, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Post Home on E. Center Street.

Lansford, holds an informal worship: a spiritual, peaceful evening

service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief

evening prayer. For those who wish to come early, a simple supper is served

at 6 p.m., followed by a brief adult and children's Bible study at 6:30.
