Coaldale

Lions set meetings

The Coaldale Lions will resume their indoor meetings with meetings on Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 25.

Both meetings will begin at 5:45 p.m. at the Viennese Villa in town. Vice President Sylvester Vavra will preside.

Nesquehoning

NCFC Ladies Auxiliary to meet

The New Columbus Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11. The board will be on the hospitality committee.

Hoagie papers are due at this time.

Golden Agers

The most recent meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of "God Bless America." Ruth Ann Feane led the group singing. An inspirational message was read by Norma Lee Burke titled "The Joys Of Summer Day." Frank Karnish and Irene Hudasky gave an update on future trips. Activities for the summer picnic were announced. It will be held on Monday, Sept. 17, were announced.

The Nesquehoning Conservation Club will start their fall meetings beginning Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at Maple Shade Meadows, 50 E. Locust St. There are important matters to be discussed and all members are being asked to attend. Please remember to bring Redner's Save-A-Tapes.

First Congregational Church

Morning Worship will be held at First Congregational Church, Ruddle Street, at 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m.

Nursing home services will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's, Coaldale, and 1:30 p.m. at MapleShade, Nesquehoning.

Morning Worship and Sunday School will take place at 9 and 10 a.m., respectively, on Sunday, Sept. 9.

The church board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10.

Hope of Christ

Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, 44 E. White St., Summit Hill, announces that the time for Sunday Worship service will return to its usual time at 10:30 a.m., effective Sept. 9.

Worship time is followed by a short fellowship time, with coffee, tea, juice and cookies and conversation.

The Aug. 13 meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers opened with prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of "God Bless America." Minnie Kennedy led the group singing.

The hospitality committee for the months of September and October will be Polly Evan and Ranie Kleppinger.

Nancy Conzoneri gave her Sunshine report with many on the sick list.

The #9 Mine Museum was approved as the location for the summer picnic which is scheduled for Sept. 17 at 1 p.m.

The Fire Line Hotel will cater the affair.
