PAHS All Night Party

Parents of Palmerton Area High School Class of 2010 students are invited to attend a parent meeting for the 2010 All Night Party at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 18 in the high school library.

All parents are asked to attend the meeting to make this a special and safe night for all students (this party is in the evening following graduation).

The Lehighton Area Democrats will be meeting on Wednesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. at Sapore's Restaurant at the foot of the McCall Bridge. Food and Drink will be available for purchase.

The speaker will be Corey Obrien, Lackawanna County Commissioner and challenger to Congressman Paul Kanjorski in the upcoming May 18, Democratic Primary.

Also speaking will be a representative of Congressman Kanjorski's Campaign. Newcomers are welcome.

Concourse Club

Palmerton Concourse Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 4, in the Lutheran Parish Hall of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. The program is "Make Me Over".

The Palmerton Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 1. The meeting will be held at the Palmerton Community Center, 217 Franklin Ave., Palmerton.

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions will meet at 6 p.m. March 4 in the community room at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, 211 N. 12th St., Lehighton. Members are also busy planning for their annual Bunny Lunch being held at 11 a.m. March 20 at the Lehighton Recreation Center. Successful Miller Bloodmobile

A bloodmobile is scheduled on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at Palmerton Area High School.

High school students are reminded that, in order to donate to the Miller-Keystone bloodmobile, the school (not Miller) requires a signed parental permission slip.

The bloodmobile is scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and is primarily for students and school staff.

The next community Miller-Keystone bloodmobile will be on Thursday, April 8, at the First United Church of Christ.

Lehighton AMVETS

Lehighton AMVETS, Elwood Miller Post 106, will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Lehighton V.F.W. Those interested should report early to help judge essays and posters.

Mixed volleyball league starting

Community Lenten Lunches

First United Church of Christ, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, will host noontime Lenten Lunches beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Lunches will be held for five consecutive Wednesdays, ending with March 24.

This year's theme will be "The Beatitudes." The public is invited to attend each week for a light lunch and worship. A guest pastor will be featured each week. All faiths are welcome.
