Historical society resumes meetings

After a several-month winter break, the Palmerton Area Historical Society will resume its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. Monday in the Palmerton Library's Knight's Gallery.

The subject this month will be "Show and Tell." Members and guests are requested to bring antique or unusual items for the audience to try to identify.

The public is invited to attend, without cost or obligation.

Trinity happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9 a.m.

Designated pastor, the Rev. Nancy Moore, presides.

Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday School classes meet for students ages 3 through grade 12 at 10:30 a.m. Level 1 and 11 (grades seven and eight) confirmation classes meet at 10:30.

First Tuesday quiet communion is March 3, 10 a.m.

Miller-Keystone Blood Drive

Miller-Keystone Blood Center's first 2015 Palmerton community blood drive will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 3 at the First United Church of Christ, next to Palmerton Borough Hall.

This drive is sponsored by Irene Shinsec, Bonnie Snyder, and John Oblick, all in memory of Jean Behler. Sponsorship pays for the extra donor refreshments and church custodian.

Although the Palmerton area is fortunate to have many donors who appear at nearly every blood drive, there is always a need for new and occasional donors.

Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9 a.m. Designated pastor the Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday school classes meet for students ages 3 through grade 12 at 10:30 a.m. Level I and II (grades seven and eight) confirmation classes meet at 10:30. A "Cabin Fever" event will take place for students in grades five through 12 on Sunday. Lunch, fun, games noon to 2 p.m.

Palmerton Camera Club

There will be a pair of events at this month's meeting of the Palmerton Camera Club.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave. in Palmerton.

The speaker will be Phil Voystock from Dan's Camera City, who will conduct a presentation for the club on camera accessories, especially the latest in filters, flash equipment, tripods, bags and more.

February's challenge is: "Childhood Revisited"

The Over-60 Club of Palmerton will meet at noon Tuesday at Palmerton Borough Hall, 401 Delaware Ave. in Palmerton.

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, is at 5 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Michael Frost, pastor at Zion's Stone Church, New Ringgold, presides.

Sunday worship begins at 9 a.m. Music is provided by the Trinity Praise Band, with guest vocalist Becky McFadden. Guest pastor the Rev. Paul Schoffstall presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Concourse Club

The Palmerton Concourse Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2915 Fireline Road, Palmerton.

The program will be Heart Healthy Cooking. Get your heart ready for some "good for you" food.

Lyndsey Vaughn, a registered dietitian with ShopRite in Brodheadsville, will demonstrate her techniques for heart healthy cooking.

Community meal

A free community meal will be served from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave. in Palmerton.
