Successful Miller-Keystone blood drive

Once again, at a time of year when blood donations are usually scarce, the residents of Palmerton and vicinity came through for Miller-Keystone at their Aug. 15 blood drive at the First United Church of Christ's Fellowship Hall. A total of 78 people registered, exceeding the goal of 75, and 78 units of blood were collected. Multi-unit donations on the Trima machines offset 7 deferrals. Preschool openings

Jack and Jill Preschool, 230 Iron St., Lehighton, has a few vacancies in both the pre-kindergarten and primary classes for this fall.

This outreach of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church provides a strong background in school preparation along with Christian teaching from a Lutheran perspective.

Opportunities for prayer and worship are a large part of the Jack and Jill program.

Students participate in weekly worship in Trinity's sanctuary, led by either the Rev. Robert vonFrisch or Karen Bizup.
