Trinity Highlights

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9 a.m. Designated pastor the Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

The annual meeting of the congregation begins at 10:15 a.m. Agenda items include Trinity's building projects under consideration, election of council members and more. Sunday School classes will not meet Sunday; classes will resume Nov. 23.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Faith Alive United Methodist Church, 678 Pine St. in Bowmanstown, will offer a Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 22 at the church.

The meal will be served at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. All are welcome to enjoy. There are no takeouts.

Transportation arrangements for disabled or homebound delivery is due before Tuesday.

Weekly Sunday school classes for young people ages 3 though grade 12 begin at 10:30 a.m. Level 1 and 11 (grades seven and eight) Confirmation classes begin at 10:30 a.m.

Successful blood drive

Miller-Keystone's blood drive at Palmerton Area High School Monday drew 65 registrants among students and staff, and 50 units of blood were collected.

The number of registrants exceeded those at the community blood drive the previous week.

Miller's personnel were assisted by the following National Honor Society students: Kristen Ahner, Lauren Campbell, Kyna Gibson, Eliza Good, Jenna Haydt, Macie Hourt, Mark Quinn, Abby Reimer, Lindsay Stasko and Kelly Westermann.

The next Miller community blood drive will be on Dec. 30.

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, is at 5 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Michael Frost, pastor at Zion's Stone Church, New Ringgold, presides.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion and recognition, remembering and giving thanks for those members of Trinity who died in the past 12 months, begins at 9 a.m. Guest pastor the Rev. John Tomlinson presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Miller-Keystone Blood Drive

Miller-Keystone's Palmerton community blood drive at the First United Church of Christ on Monday drew 56 registrants and yielded 42 units of white blood and 10 blood components.

These numbers were well below the usual results.

Local donors should be aware that Miller is the sole supplier of blood and blood components to all the hospitals in Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton Counties and beyond.

Miller Blood Drive

Miller-Keystone Blood Center's next Palmerton community blood drive will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday at First United Church of Christ, next to Palmerton Borough Hall.

It is sponsored by Janet Snyder and Jean Fritzinger.

Previous Miller donors should receive a phone call or email reminder asking them to donate. Trima machine donors will need appointments. Whole-blood donors may make appointments and are also welcome as walk-ins. Please bring your Miller ID cards.

Camera Club

The Palmerton Camera Club's October meeting has been changed to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at Fifth Street and 502 Lafayette Ave. in Palmerton.

The club's own Sue Page has started her own photography business, and will share the perils, pitfalls and rewards of being a professional photographer. She will also give tips on how to raise photos of our families and friends to a higher level.

Meetings are open to the public.
