Miller-Keystone Blood Center

The Miller-Keystone Blood Center will run its bimonthly community blood drive on Tuesday, June 12, at the First United Church of Christ, next to Palmerton Borough Hall. Registration hours are 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This visit is sponsored by William and Marilyn Kissner.

Previous donors can expect an email and/or phone call reminder, asking them to make an appointment. Those with appointments are given priority at registration; however, walk-ins are always welcome.

Vacation Bible School planned

Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, will host a community Vacation Bible School from 6:30-8:30 p.m., June 17-21 (Sunday through Thursday).

The theme is "Operation Overboard: Dare to go Deep with God."

It is free and open to children in the community 3 years old through grade six. Registration is necessary.

Call the church office at (610) 377-4303 with your child's name and age by June 10.

Newspaper drive

The men and boys of St. John's Lutheran Church will hold their monthly newspaper drive on Saturday, June 2. There will be one sweep of the Palmerton, Aquashicola, and Little Gap areas beginning at 8 a.m.

Papers should be bundled and placed within sight of the collectors. They are collecting papers only, no magazines. The shiny inserts are acceptable. They also need grocery size brown paper bags.

Beltzville Lions to meet

Beltzville Lions will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Ss. Peter and Paul School Hall. Members should note the change of date.

LALLC to meet

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 7 at the Carbon Career and Technical Institute in Jim Thorpe.

Lions are encouraged to invite a guest or family member to attend the dinner.

Installation of officers will occur.

A free community supper will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 345 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. All are welcome to enjoy a free meal and fellowship.

Can you spare one hour a week for a worthy cause? The Meals on Wheels program in Palmerton is always in need of more drivers.

LALLC to meet

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at the Gothard Realty office, Interchange Road in Lehighton.

Board members who are unable to attend are asked to notify President Lisa Whitehead before the meeting.

Summer program at St. Peter and Paul

St. Peter and Paul School is offering a summer program for children ages 5 to 12 that will provide 12 weeks of full day summer care. The program will be open between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to help parents with scheduling needs. There are full-time and part-time options available.

There will be a variety of "theme" weeks to help children have fun while learning.

Palmerton Lions to meet

Palmerton Lions will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 18 at Fireline Hotel. Marsha Resch, emergency department manager at Blue Mountain Health System, will be the speaker and will offer special tips on personal emergency/disaster preparedness.

Third Monday Book Club
