Park concert

A free concert by King Henry, sponsored by Horsehead Community Development Fund, will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the Palmerton Borough Park bandstand. Please bring a lawn chair.

In case of inclement weather, the Bandstand Committee reserves the right to cancel the concert.

Next week's concert, on June 29, will be Crazy Hearts.

The Lehighton AMVETS Post 106 will hold its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the VFW Post Home.

Palmerton Camera Club

The Palmerton Camera Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26.

The Spring Salon entries are to be brought to the meeting. The subject is a 12 photograph entry on a 16-inch by 20-inch board. The photographs are what you would use for a calendar. There are awards for each month.

The second event is the presentation and awards of the Photograph Scavenger Hunt. Individual category awards and a Club Award trophy will be presented. This is a perpetual trophy that the winning club will keep for the year.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton, begins at 9 a.m., plus recognition of members who are graduating from high school, trade school, nursing school or other higher learning institution. Interim pastor, the Rev. Guy Grube, presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Sunday School classes for children ages 3 through grade 12 are on summer break until September.

The Rev. Grube will conduct an adult forum on the subject "Death and dying as a last will and testament of faith" at 10:30 a.m.

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S 3rd St., begins at 9 a.m. Interim pastor, the Rev. Guy Grube, presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows. Sunday School classes for children ages 3 through grade 12 are on summer break until September.

Rev. Grube will conduct an adult forum on the subject death and dying at 10:30 a.m. Sunday's discussion is based on the book and movie "Heaven is for Real." Interested people are invited to attend.

The church office will be closed Monday for the holiday observance.

Holy Trinity

happenings

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton, will hold worship services at 8 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday. A hymn sing will be included in the service.

The last day of Sunday School will be June 1. Summer worship will begin June 15. The annual church picnic will be June 8 at Knoebel's Amusement Park. Busing will be provided. Sign-up sheet for the trip and those wishing to bring food are in the narthex.

St. George's Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church, at 730 Church St, Palmerton, will have a service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 10.

Historical society

The Monday, May 12 meeting of the Palmerton Area Historical Society will feature Scott Everett, trail manager of the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.

He will present a PowerPoint program on "Past, Present, and Future" of the 165-mile D&L Trail, which goes through the Lehigh Gap area.

There will be ample time for questions and answers.
