Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third Street, 9 a.m., includes reception of new members. There will also be a "send-off" blessing for the group of young people and advisers heading to Detroit for the churchwide youth gathering. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Eight teens and four adults are traveling to Detroit to participate in the ELCA Youth Gathering July 15-19 to live out their baptismal calls. The theme is "Rise Up Together."

Miller-Keystone Blood Drive

Miller-Keystone Blood Center will conduct a community blood drive on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the air-conditioned Fellowship Hall of First United Church of Christ, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. This drive is sponsored by "Honey" and the late Dr. Howard Cyr, and Mary and Thomas Naab.

Concert in the Park

On Sunday, the Palmerton Band will present a concert in the Palmerton Borough Park Bandstand beginning at 7 p.m. This concert is sponsored by The Concourse Club of Palmerton.

There is no rain date for any concert. In case of inclement weather the Bandstand Committee reserves the right to cancel the concert. Please bring your own lawn chair.

On July 12, the concert will be by the Lehigh Valley Italian American Band.

Historical society

The Palmerton Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. July 13 at the Little White Church, Third and Columbia Avenue in Palmerton.

Chris Maxwell of Wild Creek Bee Farm will present a program on beekeeping and products made from honey and bees, including jams and skin cream.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair.

Free yoga sessions are available Fridays from 2-3 p.m. Enter at the Third Street office door to go to the youth room. Bring your own mat and water. No baby-sitting service is available.

Sunday the group Who Knows will perform at 7 p.m. in Palmerton Borough park. This week's concert is sponsored by Horsehead Community Development Fund.

Palmerton Camera Club

There will be two events for this month's Palmerton Camera Club meeting at 7:30 p.m. June 25.

The first is the presentation and awards of the Photography Scavenger Hunt. Individual category awards and a Club Award trophy will be presented. This is a perpetual trophy that the winning club will keep for the next year. The Palmerton Camera Club won the trophy last year and hopes to keep it for another year.

This is the second year competing against the Pocono Camera Club. All of the entries from both clubs will be shown.
