LALLC to meet

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club Board will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at the Gothard Realty office, Interchange Road in Lehighton.

Board members who are unable to attend are asked to notify President Lisa Whitehead before the meeting.

Palmerton Lions to meet

Palmerton Lions will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 18 at Fireline Hotel. Marsha Resch, emergency department manager at Blue Mountain Health System, will be the speaker and will offer special tips on personal emergency/disaster preparedness.

Third Monday Book Club

The Third Monday Book Club will meet at the Palmerton Area Library from noon until 1 p.m., Monday, May 21. The book for discussion will be "The Killer Angels" by Michael Shaara. For more information, call the library at (610) 826-3424.

Historical society

Class of 1957

S.S. Palmer High School Class of 1957 will hold its 55th Class Reunion on June 9, with a family-style dinner at the Blue Ridge Country Club. Newspaper drive

The men and boys of St. John's Lutheran Church will hold their monthly newspaper drive on Saturday, May 5. There will be one sweep of the Palmerton, Aquashicola, and Little Gap areas beginning at 8 a.m.
