Trinity Happenings

First Saturday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion is at 5 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion starts at 9 a.m. Scholarships will be presented to 16 college students and seminarians during the Sunday worship service.

The church is air-conditioned. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Free yoga sessions are available 2-3 p.m. Fridays. Enter at the Third Street office door to go to the youth room. Bring your own mat and water. No baby-sitting service is available.

Bowman Park Camp

Bowman Park Camp will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Tabernacle at the corner of Mill and Ore streets in Bowmanstown.

The Teen Challenge Choir will perform. The choir consists of young men from all over the U.S. and each member is unique as they are coming from a background of drug, alcohol and/or crime. You are sure to be touched as they sing, perform and testify to God's transforming power.

Model railroad open house

The Christmas in July Open House continues at the Carbon Model Railroad Society, 529 Ore St., Bowmanstown.The open house will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free; donations are welcome. The building is air-conditioned.

Trinity Happenings

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9 a.m. The church is air-conditioned.

The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. A brunch reception will be held following the worship service to officially welcome Moore to the congregation.No reservation is needed to attend.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, there will be an organ recital/rededication following its repair and upgrades. The guest organist is the congregational son, Dwight Weaver.

Trinity Happenings

Eight teens and four adults are in Detroit participating in the ELCA Youth Gathering through Sunday to live out their baptismal calls. The theme is "Rise Up Together."

There are over 20,000 attending from throughout the nation plus international participants.

The events are taking place at Ford Field, Cobo Center and on the streets of Detroit.

Blood drive results

Miller-Keystone's community blood drive at the First United Church of Christ on Monday drew 66 potential donors, and 64 units of blood were collected.

This drive was sponsored by "Honey" and the late Dr. Howard Cyr, and Mary and Thomas Naab.

There will also be a "send-off" blessing for the group of young people and advisers heading to Detroit for the churchwide youth gathering. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides.
