Trinity happenings

Sunday worship with baptism of a baby girl and Service of Healing at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9 a.m. The Service of Healing with prayers and the "laying on of hands" is said for those with emotional, physical and spiritual burdens to help lighten one's loads. Designated pastor, the Rev. Nancy L. Moore, will preside. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Lioness Lions to meet

The Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club board meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the home of Bob and Alicia Silliman. Gifts will be wrapped for the Breakfast with Santa to be held at 10 a.m. Dec. 6 at the Lehighton Recreation Center. The breakfast will feature a basket raffle hosted by the Environmental Services Department & Caring Committee of the Blue Mountain Health System.

The club Christmas party will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Carbon Career & Technical Institute. Reservations can be made by contacting Alicia.

Trinity Highlights

Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9 a.m. Designated pastor the Rev. Nancy L. Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

The annual meeting of the congregation begins at 10:15 a.m. Agenda items include Trinity's building projects under consideration, election of council members and more. Sunday School classes will not meet Sunday; classes will resume Nov. 23.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Faith Alive United Methodist Church, 678 Pine St. in Bowmanstown, will offer a Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 22 at the church.

The meal will be served at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. All are welcome to enjoy. There are no takeouts.

Transportation arrangements for disabled or homebound delivery is due before Tuesday.

Sunday worship at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9 a.m. Music is provided by the Trinity Praise Band, with guest vocalist Becky McFadden. Guest pastor, the Rev. Richard Baumann, presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Weekly Sunday school classes for young people ages 3 though grade 12 begin at 10:30 a.m. Level 1 and 11 (grades seven and eight) Confirmation classes begin at 10:30 a.m.

Successful blood drive

Miller-Keystone's blood drive at Palmerton Area High School Monday drew 65 registrants among students and staff, and 50 units of blood were collected.

The number of registrants exceeded those at the community blood drive the previous week.

Miller's personnel were assisted by the following National Honor Society students: Kristen Ahner, Lauren Campbell, Kyna Gibson, Eliza Good, Jenna Haydt, Macie Hourt, Mark Quinn, Abby Reimer, Lindsay Stasko and Kelly Westermann.

The next Miller community blood drive will be on Dec. 30.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion and recognition, remembering and giving thanks for those members of Trinity who died in the past 12 months, begins at 9 a.m. Guest pastor the Rev. John Tomlinson presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.

Miller-Keystone Blood Drive

Miller-Keystone's Palmerton community blood drive at the First United Church of Christ on Monday drew 56 registrants and yielded 42 units of white blood and 10 blood components.

These numbers were well below the usual results.

Local donors should be aware that Miller is the sole supplier of blood and blood components to all the hospitals in Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton Counties and beyond.
