Diamond Fire

Company

The Diamond Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a basket social Sunday.

The doors and kitchen open at noon. The drawing will be held at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $5 for the first set, and additional tickets are three sets for $10.

Town cleanup

The Slatington Parks and Recreation Commission will sponsor the fourth annual Keep Slatington Beautiful Clean Up Day beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The cleanup, held in conjunction with Earth Day, will help beautify public recreation areas in Slatington.

Pickled Dog returns

Spring has sprung, and the Pickled Dog has returned to the Slatington Trailhead.

Currently available are hot dogs, snacks and cold drinks. Watch for an expanded menu over the summer season.

The Slatington Lions Club will hold a board meeting at the Skeet Club at 7 p.m. April 15.

Miller-Keystone Blood Drive

The Miller-Keystone Blood Center needs to collect 450 units of blood per day to meet the needs of the hospitals that it serves. Every two seconds, someone in the United States receives a donation of blood.

To help serve the community, Miller-Keystone will be coming to Northern Lehigh High School on April 10.

The blood drive will be held in the high school gym at 1 Bulldog Lane in Slatington, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Walk-ins are welcomed and must check in upon arrival at the main office.

Slatington 150 History Committee

Due to overwhelming demand, the Slatington 150 History Committee will do a limited reprinting of its recently published book, "Slatington at 150 Years: More Stories To Share."

The initial printing of 500 books has sold out, and many people have already expressed interest in purchasing more copies.

Those interested in purchasing a copy of the book should send a check for $50 payable to Slatington 150 Committee and mail to Slatington 150 Committee, P.O. Box 151, Slatington, PA 18080.

The Northern Lehigh Historical Society meets at 7 p.m. the on the fourth Wednesday of the month at Slatington Borough Hall.

The meetings are held in conjunction with the Venture Group's planning meeting for The Gathering.

Meet the Authors Night

With the expected delivery of the history book "Slatington at 150 Years: More Stories to Share" from Chernay Printing, the Slatington 150 History Committee has announced a program to introduce the book to the public.

The committee has scheduled a book unveiling and meet the authors event from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Slatington Library, located at 650 Main St. in Slatington.

Following the book unveiling, some brief remarks and a special book dedication, the public will have its first opportunity to pick up reserved copies of the book.
