Historical society

The Palmerton Area Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. July 13 at the Little White Church, Third and Columbia Avenue in Palmerton.

Chris Maxwell of Wild Creek Bee Farm will present a program on beekeeping and products made from honey and bees, including jams and skin cream.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair.

Free Movie

The East End Playground Association will continue its popular free movie presentations this summer. The first film will be "The Princess Bride," which will be shown this Thursday.

The movie will begin at dusk, which is approximately 8:30 p.m. Rain date will be Friday, same time.

The park is located on Mountain Avenue in the East End section of Tamaqua. Movie lovers of all ages are welcome. There is no admission fee and the concession stand will be open.

Heisler's concerts

Heisler's Dairy Bar in the Lewistown Valley will continue its tradition of hosting "A Night in the Country Concert Series." Free concerts will be held on various weekend nights, featuring various artists.

The next event will be a concert by the "Blue Mountain Buccaneers," from 6-8 p.m. June 28.

Trinity Happenings

Free yoga sessions are available Fridays from 2-3 p.m. Enter at the Third Street office door to go to the youth room. Bring your own mat and water. No baby-sitting service is available.

Sunday the group Who Knows will perform at 7 p.m. in Palmerton Borough park. This week's concert is sponsored by Horsehead Community Development Fund.

In the event of inclement weather, the Bandstand Committee reserves the right to cancel the concert.

On June 28 the Allentown Band will perform. Bring your own lawn chair.
