Class reunion

The Third Parryville School Reunion will be held on Saturday, Oct. 9, at Franklin Township Fire Company. Doors open at 4 p.m. with dinner served at 6 p.m.

Deadline for reservations has been extended to Sept. 18. Letters with information and the cost were previously sent to classmates. Those wishing to reserve their place should send a check made payable Parryville School Reunion and mailed to Irene Hopstock, 1375 Cherry Hill Rd., Palmerton, PA 18071. The Jim Thorpe Area High School Class of 1985 will be hosting a 25th reunion on Oct 23, from 6-11 p.m. at the Orioles in Lehighton. All members of the Class of 1986 are also invited to this event.

Tamaqua Class of 1940 holds 70-year reunion

A 70th Anniversary Reunion Picnic was held Aug. 21 by the Class of 1940 of Tamaqua High School. Carl Hafer hosted an old-fashioned picnic at the Knights of Columbus, Coaldale. Fourteen class members and 25 guests attended. Classmates attending were, seated from left, Margaret Demichele Mettenet, Harrisburg; Julia Constantine Quici, Berwin; Ruth Deem Brown, Tamaqua; Fern Clemson Kelton, New Town Square; and Fern DeArmit Edwards, Lake Milton, Ohio.

Family reunion

The 31st annual reunion of the descendants of George and Lillie (Eaches) Walck will be held Sunday, Aug. 22 at the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club, beginning at 11 a.m.

The business meeting will be held at 1 p.m.

There will be a talent show this year so family members are asked to bring their voice, instrument, or whatever talent they have to share.

Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish or dessert and an item for the Chinese Auction or cake walk.

On Saturday, June 26, the Lehighton Class of 1980 held its 30th reunion at the Lehighton Orioles.
