Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Haas

Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Haas of Lehighton celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on April 15.

Mrs. Haas is the former Fran Pratcher of Summit Hill, daughter of the late Frank and Susan Pratcher. "Franny" retired in 2008 from the Lehighton Area School District where she was employed for 45 years. She is still employed as a crossing guard in Lehighton.

Mr. Haas is the son of the late Calvin and Rebecca (Nothstein) Haas of Lehighton. He is retired from Haas' Grocery Store in Lehighton. He also is employed as a bus driver with George's Transportation for over 48 years.

Mr. and Mrs. George Pekurny

Mr. and Mrs. George Pekurny of Mahoning Valley celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last month. They were married on March 2, 1963 at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church in Lansford by the late Rev. John Kovacick.

Mrs. Pekurny is the former Linda Pettit, daughter of the late Ralph E. Pettit and Carrie C. Pettit of Lehighton. George is the son of the late George and Anna Pekurny of Mahoning Valley.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Kester

Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Kester recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. They were married March 24, 1951 at St. John Evangelical & Reformed Church (now U.C.C.), by the Rev. Arthur D. Knoebel.

Mrs. Kester is the former Miriam Weston, daughter of the late William J. and Doris (Brewer) Weston of Tamaqua. Her husband is the son of the late Edward A. and Elva (Lindenmuth) Kester, also of Tamaqua.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kintz on their wedding day.

Lester and Kathleen Kintz of Lehighton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 21.

The Kintz's have four children: Lester Kintz of Palmerton, Robert Kintz of Lehighton, Diane Mertz of Lehighton, and William Kintz, also of Lehighton.

They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Silfies

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Silfies of Palmerton recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Silfies were married on Feb. 5, 1953 in Cherryville. The Rev. Roy Meck officiated the ceremony.

Mrs. Silfies is the former Joyce Everett.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Robertshaw

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald E. Robertshaw of Tamaqua celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 29. They were married in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua, by the late Rev. William Vezius.

Mrs. Robertshaw is the former Donna Clemson, daughter of the late William and Frances Clemson.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde H. Mase

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde H. Mase of New Ringgold will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Saturday.

They were married on Jan. 5, 1943 in Jim Thorpe (formerly Mauch Chunk).

Mrs. Mase is the former Rose Rutch.

The couple have two children: Joan Seyler of Bath, Pa., and Frank Mase of Kennebunk, Maine.

They have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration in honor of the occasion is being planned for this coming June.

Mr. and Mrs. Vince Gogal

Mr. and Mrs. Vince Gogal of Nesquehoning recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

They were united in marriage on Nov. 25, 1972 in the Immaculate Conception Church in Nesquehoning by the late Monsignor Michael Dutko and the late Rev. Paul Welkie.

The best man was Joseph Staivecki, former mayor of Nesquehoning. The matron of honor was Audrey Ann Gogal of Nesquehoning.

Mrs. Gogal is the former Gloria Hunadi, daughter of the late Emro and Ann Hunadi.

Her husband is the son of the late John and Mary Gogal.

Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Ahner

Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Ahner recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Nov. 17, 1962 by the Rev. Henry E. Eisenhart in Zion Stone Church in Kreidersville.

Mrs. Ahner is the former Elaine Coleman, daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha Coleman. Her husband is the son of the late Charles and Ida Ahner.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Angelovich

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Angelovich of Lehighton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Oct. 27, 1962 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jim Thorpe.

Mrs. Angelovich is the former Marianne Melicharek, daughter of the late Milan and Mary Melicharek of Jim Thorpe.

Her husband is the son of the late Marian and Michael Angelovich of Lehighton.

The couple have three children, Patty Snyder of Lehighton; Patrina Angelovich of Reading; and Pamela Keer, wife of Bill Keer, of Palmerton.
