Anniversaries

Mr. and Mrs. Truman Andrews of Franklin Township, recently observed their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 27. The Rev. Paul Buehrle married the couple at St. Paul's Church, Big Creek.

Mrs. Andrews is the former Joy Ann Young, daughter of the late Stella Ahner of Lehighton.

Mr. Andrews is the son of the late Clinton and Marguerite Andrews of Slatington and is retired from Bethlehem Steel.

The celebrants have three children: Wendy Jo Bussey-Williams, Scott Alan Andrews and Marci Ann Warnkin, all of Lehighton.

Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Rex will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday. They were married on June 24, 1961 in Lehighton.

Mrs. Rex is the former Nancy Solt, daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Solt, Lehighton.

Mr. Rex is the son of the late Edwin and Lula Rex, Lehighton.

The couple have five children: Kevin and his wife Debra, Lehighton; Shelly and her husband Charles Kurdziel, Lehighton; Scott and his wife LeeAnn, Lehighton; Jeffrey and his wife Michelle, Lehighton; Jody and David Cressley, Weissport.

Ira and Yvonne Snyder, of Lehighton will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on June 23, 2011.

Ira is the son of the late Eva and Willoughby Snyder, of Packerton. Yvonne is the daughter of the late Dorothy and Fred Leikel, of Lehighton.

Both Ira and Yvonne graduated together from Lehighton High School in 1949.

Mr. Snyder worked for the Fisher Insurance Agency, Lehighton, and Mrs. Snyder worked for the Terrace Restaurant, Walnutport.

The couple has two children: Fred and his wife Georgette, of Whitehall and Ann and her husband, David Wenger, of Bethlehem.

The Rev. and Mrs. Richard L. Hinkle, Weatherly, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

They were married on May 29, 1961, by the late Rev. Alfred G. Sandrock in Salem United Church of Christ, Weatherly.

Mrs. Hinkle is the former Gladys (DeFrain) Titus. Pastor Hinkle is an ordained Lutheran pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, having served parishes in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod. He also was a member of the staff of the former Lutheran Welfare Service, serving as the senior vice president of the agency until 1989.
