Mr. and Mrs. Earl Billig on their wedding day

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Billig of Tamaqua celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 11. They were married in St. Matthew's Church, Weatherly, by the Rev. Harold Lesh.

Given in marriage by her brother, Michael Tepo Jr. of Allentown, the bride was attended by the late Nancy Yorke as maid of honor. Best man duties were performed by the late Paul Fisher Jr.

Mrs. Billig is the former Joan Tepo, daughter of Josephine Tepo Vogle of Tamaqua and the late Michael Tepo Sr.

Mr. Billig is the son of the late Neal and Florence Billig of Weatherly.

Mr. and Mrs. John J. Unitis Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. John J. Unitis Jr. of Coaldale recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 25, 1963 at St. Michael's Church, Lansford by the bride's late uncle, the Rev. Michael G. Sirak.

Margaret is the daughter of the late John and Mary Porvaznik of Lansford.

Her husband is the son of the late John J. Sr. and Margaret Unitis of Coaldale.

The couple has two sons, John J. III of Coaldale and Robert D., husband of Michaele of Atglen. They also have twin grandchildren, Jude and Hannah.

A luncheon was held in honor of Clyde and Rose Mase of New Ringgold, who recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

The celebration was hosted by their children, Joan Seyler of Bath, Pa. and Frank Mase of Maine.

There were many family and friends there to wish them well at the luncheon, which took place at the Barnhouse Village in Bath.

In honor attendance was Myrtle Hoops, who was maid of honor for the couple on Jan. 5, 1943.

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen P. Orsulak

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen P. Orsulak of Lansford recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were united in marriage on June 15, 1963 at the former St. Michael Church in Lansford by Monsignor Joseph Baran.

The couple celebrated their golden anniversary at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Lansford (formerly St. Michael Church) with the Rev. Kenneth Medve, followed by dinner with their family.

Betty and Steve owned and operated the "My Place Restaurant" in Lansford for many years.

Mr. and Mrs. Frederic P. Gimbi Sr. of New Ringgold recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were united in marriage on June 17, 1963 in East Orange, N.J. by the Rev. Wilbur Parker.

Mrs. Gimbi is the former Donna Gerrone, daughter of Angelo Gerrone of Avon Lake, Ohio and the late Marie (Figueiredo) Gerrone.

Her husband is the son of the late Margaret (Parsons) and Russell Gimbi.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry A. Hahn

Mr. and Mrs. Larry A. Hahn recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were united in marriage on June 15, 1963 at St. Matthew's Union Church, Kunkletown, by the Rev. Adan Bohner.

The former Margaret Shupp is retired and a homemaker.

Her husband is currently employed at Simcoe Beverage in Walnutport.

The couple has three children: Karen, married to Mark Stevko; Keith, married to Jean; and Kevin. All are from Palmerton. They also have six grandchildren: Kristen, Ashley, Elizabeth, Brittany, Andrea and Michael.

Mr. and Mrs. Edgar A. Poe Jr. of Jim Thorpe are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.

They were married on June 27, 1953 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Jim Thorpe, formerly Mauch Chunk, by the Rev. R. Frank Herr.

Mrs. Poe is the former Marilyn Maehrer, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Maehrer. Her husband is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar A. Poe.

Mr. Poe is a Marine Corps veteran who served in World War II.

He is a retired CRNA from Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Yuhas

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Yuhas of Jim Thorpe recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

They were married on June 1, 1963 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe, by the late Rev. Francis Adolf.

Mrs. Yuhas is the former Carol Hawk, daughter of the late Ruth and Nathan Hawk of Jim Thorpe. She was employed by the former Lehigh Valley Dairy, Lehighton, before retiring.

Mr. Yuhas is a son of the late Bertha and Stephen Yuhas of Jim Thorpe. A U.S. Navy veteran, he is retired from Mack Trucks, Inc., Allentown.

Mr. and Mrs. John Vincler, Jim Thorpe, are receiving congratulations on the celebration of their 60th wedding anniversary on June 6. They were married in St. John's Lutheran Church, South Avenue, by the Rev. Mark Lochner.

Mrs. Vincler is the daughter of the late Charles and Nora Witt, and sister to Wayne and the late Charles "Corky" Witt. She is retired from the Jim Thorpe School District, having worked in the cafeteria of L.B. Morris Elementary School for 22 years.

Sterling and Barbara Frable Weaver celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 12 in Boone, N.C.

Sterling was born in Lehighton, and Barbara was born in Big Creek.

Mary Jean Weaver Hobart, and Chris Matthew Weaver of North Carolina are their two children. They have a son-in-law, Clarence Hobart.

They have two grandchildren, Luke Hobart and Caroline Hobart of North Carolina.

Sterling and Barbara have resided in Salisbury, N.C. for 30 years. Their son, Chris, also graduated from Appalachian State University the same day of their anniversary.
