Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Macalush

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Macalush of Tamaqua recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Aug. 19, 1961 at Primitive Methodist Church, Tamaqua, by the Rev. Francis L. Reilly.

Mrs. Macalush is the former Anne Edmonds, daughter of the late Timothy and Verna Edmonds of Tamaqua.

Mr. Macalush is the son of the late Benjamin and Anna Macalush of Nesquehoning.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rogal

Mary and Tom Rogal of Lehighton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday.

They were married on Aug. 26, 1961.

Mrs. Rogal is the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Zellner of Weissport. Her husband is the son of the late William and Anne Rogal of Lehighton.

The Rogals are the parents of three children: Tom, and his wife Donna of Palmerton; Debbie, and her husband Rich Semmel of Graham, N.C.; and Cindy, who passed away in 1985.

They have five grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. John Rarick

John and Dorothy Rarick will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday.

They were married on Aug. 21, 1961 in Claysburg, Pa., by the Rev. Joe Steinert.

Mrs. Rarick is the former Dorothy Evans, daughter of the late Thomas and Olive Evans of Coaldale. Mr. Rarick is the son of Margaret Willing and the late John W. Rarick of Tamaqua.

Mrs. Rarick worked at Bright's department store, A&P supermarket in Tamaqua and for Lehigh Asphalt/Glasgow Contracting in Andreas for 27 years. Her husband worked at Parish Steel, Reading, for 33 years.

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Griffiths

Mr. and Mrs. Dale Griffiths of Hometown are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Aug. 19, 1961.

Mrs. Griffiths is the former Irene Derzak, daughter of the late Bernie and Mary Derzak of Coaldale.

Mr. Griffiths is the son of the late E. Franklin Griffiths Sr. and Mabel Griffiths of Tamaqua.

The couple has two children: a daughter, Kelly Cerimele, who resides at home; and a son, Scott, who resides in Coaldale with his wife, Marie.

They have four grandchildren: Sindle Griffiths, Dominic Cerimele, and Dustin and Sasha Kranch.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Titus

Thomas and Mary (Fedorick) Titus, Weatherly, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

The couple was married on July 29, 1961 by the late Rev. Alfred G. Sandrock in St. Matthew's United Church of Christ, Weatherly. William Titus was the best man, and Joannie Howser was the maid of honor.

Mrs. Titus is the daughter of the late Vincent and June (Fisher) Fedorick. She worked as a seamstress at Morgan Knitting Mills in Hometown.

Rev. David and Beverley Knoebel

The Rev. David and Beverley Knoebel of Hometown recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married in Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua on June 24, 1961.

Beverley is the daughter of the late John and Mae Barton. David is the son of the late Rev. Arthur and Marion Knoebel.

A service of celebration was held on June 26 in the Muhlenberg College Chapel.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snyder of 313 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, will celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary on July 29. They were married in Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, by the late Rev. Charles Schlitzer.

Mrs. Snyder is the former Joan Schlosser. She is retired after working 25 years as the Tamaqua borough secretary.

Her husband is a disabled veteran with over 16 years of service in the U.S. Army. Retired, he was last employed as plant superintendent at the former Diversified Metals Corp., Hometown.

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Smith Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Smith Sr. of Franklin Township recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

They were married on June 21, 1986 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church by the Rev. David Williams.

Mrs. Smith is the former Cheryl Wentz, daughter of the late Paul and Edna Wentz. Mr. Smith is the son of the late Roy and Jane Smith.

Mr. Smith is employed by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. His wife is employed by PNC Bank.

The Smiths are the parents of one son, Brian Smith Jr., who graduated from Penn State University in 2010 with a degree in finance.

Mr. and Mrs. James H. McCauley of Jim Thorpe are celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary this week.

The couple was married on July 21, 1956 by the late Rev. Singer in Forty Fort Methodist Church, Forty Fort.

Mrs. McCauley is the former Barbara Boston, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Owen Boston of Forty Fort.

Mr. McCauley is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George McCauley of Jim Thorpe. He is retired from Bethlehem Steel.

The couple has one son, James, and his wife Coleen of Jim Thorpe; and one grandchild, Matthew.

Mr. and Mrs. Truman Andrews of Franklin Township, recently observed their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 27. The Rev. Paul Buehrle married the couple at St. Paul's Church, Big Creek.

Mrs. Andrews is the former Joy Ann Young, daughter of the late Stella Ahner of Lehighton.

Mr. Andrews is the son of the late Clinton and Marguerite Andrews of Slatington and is retired from Bethlehem Steel.

The celebrants have three children: Wendy Jo Bussey-Williams, Scott Alan Andrews and Marci Ann Warnkin, all of Lehighton.
