Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gerber

Elda and Ralph Gerber of New Ringgold are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married on Dec. 21, 1940 at Zion's Stone Church in Snyders by the late Rev. W.W. Moyer. They are lifelong members of Zion's Stone Church.

Mrs. Gerber is the former Elda Shellhamer, daughter of the late Eva and Morris Shellhamer of New Ringgold. Her husband is the son of the late Katie and Mahlon Gerber of New Ringgold.

The Gerbers have two daughters: Janice, wife of Walter Rudy of Bridgeville, Del.; and Rhea, wife of Gerald Steigerwalt of New Ringgold.

Mr. and Mrs. James Koch II of Palmerton celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Nov. 28. They were married at St. John's Union Church in Palmerton by the late Rev. M.L. Wahrmann.

Mrs. Koch is the former Ruth Straup of Parryville, daughter of the late Thomas and Rose Straup of Parryville. She worked most of her life as a homemaker.

Her husband is the son of the late Gertrude and James Koch of Walcksville. He retired from the former Pryofax Gas Company.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Greene Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Greene Jr. of Lehighton recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.

They were married on Dec. 11, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Parryville.

Mr. Greene is the son of the late Norman and Florence (Andreas) Greene. Mrs. Greene is the daughter of the late Frank and Matrona (Dorward) Rehrig.

The Greenes have two children: Kim Henry, wife of Harold Henry of Lehighton; and Norman III, husband of Tracey Greene of Lehighton.

They also have five grandchildren: Timothy Knopf, Lehighton; and Emily, Heidi, Linsey and Norman IV, also of Lehighton.

Mr. and Mrs. John F. Gurcsik Jr.

Mr. and Mrs. John F. Gurcsik Jr. of Hometown celebrated their 25 wedding anniversary on Sept. 7. They were married in St. Theresa's Catholic Church, New Cumberland, by Msgr. Joseph W. Leary.

Mrs. Gurcsik is the former Mary E. Coogan, daughter of James and Selina Coogan of New Cumberland. Her husband is the son of John Gurcsik of Cape May Court House, N.J., and Teresa Gurcsik of Sicklerville, N.J.

The couple has four children: Eileen M. Gurcsik, John F. Gurcsik III, James M. Gurcsik and Michael P. Gurcsik.

Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Sommers

Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Sommers of Summit Hill recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married by the late Monsignor Francis Haley at St. Joseph's Church in Summit Hill on Sept. 24, 1960.

Mrs. Sommers is the former Elizabeth "Liz" Matta, daughter of the late Joseph and Jean Matta of Lansford. Her husband is the son of the late Patsy and Katie Sommers of Summit Hill.

The couple has three children: Alex Sommers and his girlfriend, Susan, of Summit Hill; Jeremy Sommers, also of Summit Hill; and Patricia Sommers of Schwenksville.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Paul

Mary Lou and Louis Paul of Nesquehoning recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They were married Oct. 5, 1985 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Nesquehoning, by the late Rev. Paul Welkie.

Mrs. Paul is the daughter of the late Gene and Georgine (Coniglio) Kennedy, formerly of Nesquehoning.

Mr. Paul is the son of Louise (Vitek) Paul-Solomon, Lansford, and the late Michael Paul. He is also the stepson of the late Andrew Solomon.

Marlin and Antionette "Dolly" Schuetrumpf

Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Schuetrumpf of Tamaqua celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently.

They were married on Nov. 24, 1960 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Summit Hill, by the late Rev. Msgr. J. Francis Haley.

Mrs. Schuetrumpf is the former Antionette "Dolly" Cusanelli, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Cusanelli of Summit Hill.

Mr. Schuetrumpf is the son of the late Elmer and Agnes Schuetrumpf. He is retired from Sonaco of Reading.

The couple has one son, David of Tamaqua, and two grandchildren, Amber and Cory Schuetrumpf.

Edward T. and Helen C. Marzen of Lehighton are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today. They were married on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 1950 at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe by the Rev. John Engler.

Attendants for the couple were George Marzen, David Roos, Connie Burkowski Santoni and Caroline Roos Reichert.

Mrs. Marzen is the daughter of the late Hugo and Caroline Roos of Jim Thorpe. Her husband is the son of the late John and Amelia Marzen, also of Jim Thorpe.

Mr. and Mrs. David Eickhoff recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Sept. 4, 1960 by the late Justice of The Peace Edward Lewis of Lehighton, who performed the ceremony in his office.

Mrs. Eickhoff is the former Thelma Wernett, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wernett Sr., Lehighton, and formerly of New Jersey.

Mr. Eickhoff is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Eickhoff, Lehighton.

Mr. and Mrs. Emmett McCall

Mary Ellen and Emmett McCall of Lansford celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 12.

They were married in the former St. Michael's Catholic Church, Lansford, by the late Rev. Thomas Edwards, cousin of the bridegroom. The late Monsignor Joseph Baron, pastor, was the Mass celebrant.

Mrs. McCall is the daughter of the late George and Helen Sniscak of Lansford. Her husband is the son of the late Patrick and Helen McCall of Mahoning Valley.
