Mr. and Mrs. G. Thomas Wargo

Mr. and Mrs. G. Thomas Wargo of Palmerton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 20, 1960 at Sacred Heart Church in Palmerton by the Rev. George E. Uricheck.

Mrs. Wargo is the former Annette Halmi, daughter of the late John and Helen Halmi of Palmerton. Mr. Wargo is the son of Sophie Wargo and the late George Wargo, also of Palmerton.

Mrs. Wargo was formerly employed as a registered nurse at Palmerton Hospital. Mr. Wargo was employed as a teacher and coach for Palmerton Area School District before his retirement.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snyder if 313 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 29.

They were married in Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, by the late Rev. Charles Schlitzer.

Mrs. Snyder is the former Joan Schlosser. Prior to retiring, she had been employed by the Borough of Tamaqua, for 25 years, as the borough secretary.

Her husband is a disabled veteran with more than 16 years of service with the U.S. Army. He is retired from the former Diversified Metals Corporation, Hometown, where he had been employed as plant superintendent.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mase

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mase recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. They were married July 2, 1960 at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe.

Mrs. Mase is the former Anne Marie McHugh.

The couple have four children: Sally, wife of Wayne Smith; Ava, wife of John Bretzik; and Pamela Formica, all of Jim Thorpe; and Thomas Mase, and his wife Pamela of Palmyra.

They have six grandchildren: Bridget, wife of Eric Johnston; John Paul Bretzik; Heather Formica; David Formica (who passed away July 21, 2006); Cole Mase and Kendra Mase.

Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Goldberg

Audrey and LeRoy Goldberg of Lehighton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married June 18, 1960 at S.S. Peter and Paul Church, Lehighton, by the late Rev. George Fenzil.

Mrs. Goldberg is the daughter of the late Wilmer and Mary Swartz of Lehighton. Mr. Goldberg is the son of the late Howard and Dorothy Goldberg of Lehighton.

They have five children: Cynthia, wife of Scott Ritter; Mary Beth Goldberg; Peggy, wife of Steve Mooney; Donna, wife of Wayne Andrews; and Greg Goldberg and his partner Angie Parsons; all of Lehighton.

Mr. and Mrs. William R. Yost are celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. They were married on July 16, 1960 by the Rev. Paul B. Kendall and the Rev. Hubert Kidd at St. John's U.C.C. Church in Tamaqua.

Mrs. Yost is the former Beverly K. Bradbury, daughter of Margaret Bradbury of Mahanoy City, and the late Joseph Bradbury.

Mr. Yost is the son of the late William and Alma Yost, formerly of Tamaqua.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schlenner of Jim Thorpe recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 10, 1980 at St. John's Lutheran Church in-the-heights, Jim Thorpe, by the Rev. Charles W. Kampmeyer.

Mrs. Schlenner is the former Fay Kemmerle, daughter of Charlotte Kemmerle of Jim Thorpe and the late Marvin Kemmerle.

Mr. Schlenner is the son of Theresa Schlenner of Jim Thorpe and the late Walter Schlenner.

They have two children: Karen Schlenner of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., and Tiffany Schlenner of Plains.

Mr. and Mrs. Willard Dunbar of Palmerton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married on July 9, 1960 at St. John's Episcopal Church of Palmerton.

Mrs. Dunbar is the former Joanne Smith, daughter of the late Raymond and Lena (McFarland) Smith of Bowmanstown.

Mr. Dunbar is the son of the late Melvin and Ida (Hamm) Dunbar of Lehighton.

The Dunbars have three children, Glenn Dunbar of Weatherly; Ruth Kresge of Palmerton; and Tammy Kormann, wife of Frank Kormann of Lehighton.

Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Dunbar of Jim Thorpe recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They were married on June 15, 1985 at St. John's Lutheran Church in-the-heights, Jim Thorpe, by the Rev. Charles Kampmeyer.

Mrs. Dunbar is the former Jean Kemmerle, daughter of Charlotte Kemmerle of Jim Thorpe and the late Marvin Kemmerle. She is employed as an administrative assistant at Panther Creek Partners in Nesquehoning.

Mr. Dunbar is the son of the late Myron and Loretta Dunbar, formerly of Lehighton. He is a licensed realtor at Mary Enck Realty in Albrightsville.

Dorothy and George Blasko Jr., of Hometown, recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

They were married on June 27, 1970 in St. Bartholomew's Catholic Church, Brockton, by the Rev. John Elias.

Dorothy is the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes Zuber of Summit Hill.

George is the son of the late George and Pauline Blasko Sr. of MaryD.

Both were employed by John E. Morgan in Hometown until production ceased, with a combined total of 68 years.

Mrs. Hochberg is the former Joan Behler, daughter of Stella Behler of Bowmanstown; and the late John Behler.

Mr. Hochberg is the son of the late Carl and Helen Hochberg of Lehighton.
