The engagement ofJennifer Graver of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Ethan Hogeland, also of Jacksonville, has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Allen and Tammy Graver of Tamaqua.

She is a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School. She graduated from Kutztown University with a bachelor's degree in elementary special education. She is also a graduate of Grand Canyon University where she earned a master's degree in special education.

She is currently employed at Jacksonville Commons Middle School as a teacher for severe/profound students.

Mrs. Rose Barletta

Mrs. Rose (Jakubco) Barletta, formerly of Tamaqua, is celebrating her 90th birthday today with a family dinner at La Dolce Casa Restaurant in Tamaqua.

She was born April 21, 1925.

The widow of Vincent J. Barletta, who died Oct. 29, 1984, she has been a resident of the Hometown Nursing Center for the past four years.

After graduating from the former St. Ann's High School, Lansford, in 1943, she went to work for the late optometrist Dr. Harry T. Billiger in his Bonded Optical office in Tamaqua. She worked for Dr. Billiger for 30 years.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry T. Labenburg Sr.

She is retired.

The prospective bridegroom is also retired.

The couple plans to wed on July 18.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Phillipeck of West Penn Township. She is a 2005 graduate of Marian Catholic High School. She graduated in 2009 with a bachelor of arts in communications/public relations from Immaculata University.

She is employed by Optum Health, United Healthcare.

Winifred "Winkie" Woods

Winifred Emma (Mulhern) Woods, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community is celebrating her 92nd birthday.

Nicknamed "Winkie," she was born in West Hazleton on April 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Winifred and Daniel Mulhern of West Hazleton.

She graduated from Weatherly Area High School in 1940. She then attended McCann's School of Business for stenography and later began working in the Hazleton National Bank building for A. Sterling Learn, CPA. Sterling and Winkie later married in 1945. They were married for 42 years until his death in 1987.

She's currently employed by Merkle Inc. of Pittsburgh as an account manager.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of the late Susan and Terry Moody, formerly of Wyalusing.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Miller

Stephanie and Ernest Miller of East Penn Township recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

They were married April 4, 1975, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lehighton by the Rev. Paul H. Spohn.

Mrs. Miller is the daughter of Margaret Strohl, Lehighton, and the late George Strohl. Her husband is the son of Mildred Miller of Lehighton and the late Charles Miller.

They have two daughters. Kimberly, wife of Jonathan Sterling of Lehighton; and Misty, wife of Matthew Kershner, also of Lehighton.

They have five grandchildren.

A daughter, Arabella Grace O'Donnell, was born at 4:31 a.m. March 31, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, to Nicholas Dennis O'Donnell and Kayla Ann Zambiasi of Danville.

She weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 19.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Phillip and Karen Zambiasi of Minersville.

Paternal grandparents are Mike and Lisa O'Donnell of Tamaqua.

A son, Declan Weaver, was born at 4:01 a.m. March 18, 2015, at the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Hazleton, to Crystal Serfass and David Weaver of Junedale.

He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces, and measured 19 and inches long.

He was welcomed by a sister, Serena Kuehl, 13, and brothers Drake Kuehl, 9, and David Weaver Jr., 7.

Maternal grandparents are the late KayAnn and John Wentz of Lehighton.

Paternal grandparents are Caroldeen and Herbert Weaver of Henryville.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Smell Jr. of Lake Hauto announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Lynn, to Joseph-Michael Jeremy Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Martin Sr. of North Irwin.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Marian Catholic High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a master of engineering in project management from the University of Maryland.

She is PMP certified and currently works as a director of project management at Aramark in Philadelphia.
