Norman Krepshaw

Norman Krepshaw, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community, is celebrating his 96th birthday.

He was born on May 20, 1919, in Shamokin.

When he turned 13 he left school to work in the local coal mines. In his teenage years he met the love of his life, Mary Louise Fry.

On Jan. 2, 1940, they were married in St. Joseph's Church in Shamokin. They were married for 72 years until her passing in May 2012.

Marcy Walck and David Knauft

The engagement of Marcy L. Walck of Jim Thorpe to David L. Knauft Jr., also of Jim Thorpe, has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Jim and Michele Walck of Penn Forest Township. She is a 2006 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School and a 2008 graduate of Central Penn College in Harrisburg. She is employed as a caseworker at the Carbon County Assistance Office in Lehighton.

Kim Marie Christie and James E. Gillen

The engagement of Kim Marie Christie, Palmerton, daughter of Mark and Yvonne Christie of Tobyhanna, to James Edmund Gillen of Albrightsville, son of Michael and Carole Gillen, also of Albrightsville, has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the a 2000 graduate of Pocono Mountain High School, a 2004 graduate of Penn State University, and a 2007 graduate of Widener University School of Law.

She is an associate attorney at Strubinger & Gazo P.C.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Mriss

Roger and Eileen Mriss of Lehighton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married May 8, 1965, in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Lehighton by the late Rev. George J. Fenzil.

Mrs. Mriss is the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Walck) Schmalzel of Lehighton. Her husband is the son of the late Andrew and Norma (Hontz) Mriss of Lehighton.

They are the parents of three children: Joseph, husband of Karen, of Milford, Delaware; Catherine, wife of Daniel Kurtz of Trumbauersville; and Kevin, husband of Cara, of Quakertown.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Puschock

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Puschock of Nesquehoning are celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary.

They were married on May 5, 1940, in St. Mary's Greek Catholic Church in Nesquehoning by the late Rev. Stephen Gulovich.

Mrs. Puschock is the former Julia Jane Merman.

Their son, Thomas, passed away in November of 2011. Daughter-in-law, Patricia, lives in Portland, Maine.

They have a grandson, Thomas, and a granddaughter, Erika, who live in Portland. They also have a stepgrandson, Richard Libby, who lives in Dayton, Maine, with his wife, Heidi, and their six children.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger E. Tyson

Mr. and Mrs. Roger E. Tyson of Lehighton are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 1, 1965, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mahoning Valley, by the Rev. George E. Hein.

Mrs. Tyson, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James J. Fink of Mahoning Valley, retired in 2004 after working over 41 years in the banking industry for various local banks.

Mr. Tyson, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Earl H. Tyson of Andreas, retired from Blue Ridge Pressure Castings in 2008, after 43 years of service.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Getz Sr.

Richard and Barbara Getz Sr. of Palmerton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married on April 10, 1965, at St. Matthew's Church in Kunkletown by the Rev. Aiden Bohner.

Mrs. Getz is the daughter of the late Vane and Alma (Costenbader) Smale of Kresgeville. Her husband is the son of the late Walter and Elsie (Hittner) Getz of Franklin Township.

They have two children: A daughter, Sherry, wife of Louis Smith of Lehighton, and a son, Richard Jr., husband of Yvette, of Palmerton.

Brantley Lewis Brungard

BRUNGARD A son, Brantley Lewis Brungard, was born at 3:29 p.m., March 13, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital to Susanna Morgan of Andreas, and Nicholas Brungard, also of Andreas.

He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and measured 19.5 inches long.

He was welcomed home by his 18-month-old brother, Bryson Brungard.

Maternal grandparents are Brenda Ritter of Nesquehoning and Frank Morgan of Lehighton.

Maternal great-grandparents are Barry-Lee and Susan Ahner of Lehighton. Mariah Ahner is the maternal great-great-grandmother.

Michael Kline and Tamarra Rusnock

Tamarra Rusnock of Lansford, daughter of Greg and Trudi Rusnock, also of Lansford, and Michael Kline of Hamburg, son of Kenneth and the late Edna Kline, also of Hamburg, have announced their engagement.

They will exchange vows on Aug. 8 at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Lansford.

The bride-to-be is a 1995 graduate of Panther Valley High School. She is employed by Redner's Market in Nesquehoning.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2000 graduate of Hamburg High School. He is employed by Redner's Market in Reading.

The engagement ofJennifer Graver of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Ethan Hogeland, also of Jacksonville, has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Allen and Tammy Graver of Tamaqua.

She is a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School. She graduated from Kutztown University with a bachelor's degree in elementary special education. She is also a graduate of Grand Canyon University where she earned a master's degree in special education.

She is currently employed at Jacksonville Commons Middle School as a teacher for severe/profound students.
