Mr. and Mrs. Barry K. Frohnheiser Sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Barry Keith Frohnheiser Sr. of Jim Thorpe are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married July 10, 1965, at Zion United Church of Christ in Packerton by the Rev. James C. Popada. Mrs. Frohnheiser was given in marriage by her brother, Pastor Clyde Moyer Sr.

Mrs. Frohnheiser is the former Darlene Jean Moyer, daughter of the late Halden Wentz-Mills Moyer of Parryville, who died when Darlene was 5 years old. She was raised by her mother, Charlotte E. Deutsch Moyer (Fronheiser) and stepfather, Albert Deutsch of Packerton.

Owen Kenneth Cummins

CUMMINS A son, Owen Kenneth Cummins, was born at 4:20 a.m. May 22, 2015, in Allentown, to Jordan Zehner and Brandon Cummins, both from Lehighton.

He weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Barbara Zehner of Lehighton and Terry Zehner of Tamaqua.

Paternal grandparents are Elizabeth Humphreys of Atco, New Jersey, and Mark Cummins Sr. of Lehighton.

Owen was welcomed by his older brother Parker James Cummins, who is 22 months old.

Joyce Lorraine Cunfer

Joyce Lorraine Cunfer is celebrating her 90th birthday.

She was born July 7, 1925, to David and Annie Olewine in Palmerton.

She married Charles "Chick" Cunfer on April 13, 1944, in Bowmanstown.

Joyce has two sons: David Cunfer, married to Bonnie Harley, and James Cunfer, married to Tami Cunfer.

She is blessed with two grandchildren: David and Robin, and seven great-grandchildren.

Joyce also has two grand-dogs (Buster and Lily) and a grand-cat (Lucky).

Michele Hoffman and G. Michael Kovacs of Palmerton have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoffman of New Tripoli.

Her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Kovacs of Palmerton.

The couple are planning a wedding for Aug. 22 of this year.

Connie Biederman

Connie L. Biederman, a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, recentlycelebrated her 91st birthday.

Born in Philadelphia on July 1, 1924, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Leona Oettle.

Connie graduated from the Philadelphia High School for girls in 1942.

Following graduation she went to work at theFederal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia, where she worked for 37 years. She started as a file clerk and later became assistantcoordinator.

She married the love of her life, Fred Biederman, in 1948.

The Lehighton High School Class of 1957 held its 58-year reunion June 20 at the Mahoning Valley Country Club. There were 46 in attendance. The class contributes $5,000 annually to a scholarship fund which is awarded to two seniors who are members of the graduating class, with $2,500 going to a senior boy and $2,500 to a senior girl who are continuing their education in a four-year college. The class has been doing this since 2007. Thosein attendance at the reunion include, front from left, Robert Bottcher, Maureen (McLaughlin) Markley, Nancy (Bray) Wolfe and Merle Wolfe.

Joelle Snyder and Andrew Hurst

The engagement of Joelle Snyder of Annville to Andrew Hurst, also of Annville, has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of James and Janet Snyder of Lehighton. She is a 2011 graduate of Lebanon Valley College, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in education. She is employed as a special-education teacher in the Lebanon School District.

Margaret Mae Marcavage

Margaret "Maggie" Mae Marcavage recentlycelebrated her 100thbirthday.

She was born June 25, 1915, on South Line Street in Frackville. She was the eldest of four daughters, born to Madgeline Mary (Bendrick) and Paul Marcavage.

She met and eventually married Paul A. Flail of Tamaqua on Feb. 17, 1931. They met at the now defunct Lakewood Park in Barnesville. They were married for 53 years when Paul passed away in June 1984.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald A. Craig of Kunkletown are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

They were married July 5, 1975, in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Palmerton by the Rev. James Laubach Sr.

Mrs. Craig is the former Shirley Meinhart, daughter of the late Elmer and Evelyn Meinhart of Kunkletown.

Mr. Craig is the son of the late Archie D. and Pauline Craig of Kunkletown.

The couple is retired. They are active members of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Trachsville.

GEORGE Ann Marie Hoffman and Richard Douglas George Sr. of Tamaqua welcomed a son to their family on June 8.

Richard Douglas George Jr. was born in the Pottsville Hospital, weighing in at 7 pounds. He was 20 inches long.

Paternal grandparents are Tracey George and Scott Neff. Maternal grandparents are Sue Hoffman and the late Robert C. Hoffman.

Great-grandparents are Edgar and Shirley Weber.

The new member of the family was welcomed home by a brother, Tony Claypoole.
