Walter N. Hill of Tamaqua celebrated his 100th birthday on July 21 surrounded by family and friends, including a new great-grandson. The party was held in the community room at the Tamaqua Majestic House apartments.

Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Deebel

Emma Kathryn Ruggery, daughter of Donald Jr. and Kate Ruggery of Duncanville, and Nicholas Allen Deebel, son of Mark and Sue Deebel of Hummelstown, were united in marriage on June 6, 2015, at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Hollidaysburg. Monsignor Stanley Carson officiated the service.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

The reception was held at the Heritage Discovery Center in Altoona.

The new Mrs. Deebel is a graduate of Juniata College. She is pursuing her teaching certificate.

Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. Blake

Laura N. Christian of Parkville, Maryland, daughter of Mark and Karen Preiss of Baltimore, Maryland, and Patrick J. Blake, also of Parkville, son of Gary and Judith Blake of Summit Hill, were united in marriage on July 12, 2014, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Baltimore.

The Rev. William F. Spacek, M.Div., BCC, officiated the ceremony. Mary Stanton was the organist.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose Lauren A. Reidy to be her maid of honor.

The bridesmaids included Jennifer L. Jeremiah, Robin M. Hope, Ashley N. Silcott and Tracy M. Purper.

Mr. Edward McLaughlin and Dr. Angela McLaughlin

Dr. Angela Burda, daughter of Michael and Gloria Burda of Barnesville, and Edward McLaughlin, son of Barry and Marlene McLaughlin of Tamaqua, were united in marriage on June 27, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church in Cape May, New Jersey.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride chose Kristen Williams as her maid of honor.

Bridesmaids included Ariele Baggett, Andrea Testerman and Samantha Burda.

The bridegroom chose Dr. Sean McLaughlin as his best man. Groomsmen included Chris McLaughlin, Michael Burda Jr. and Joshua Burda.

Andre David Kantor

KANTOR A son, Andre David Kantor, was born at 11:04 a.m. April 10, 2015, at St. Luke's in Allentown, to Courtney Ann Bruno and Stephen Michael Kantor of Tamaqua.

He weighed 9.8 pounds and was 20.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are John Bruno and the late Michele Bruno.

Paternal grandparents are Richard Kantor and Kathryn Nunemacher.

Andre was welcomed home by his siblings Kyle, Michael, Brody and Joseph.

Albert G. Snyder

Albert G. Snyder, a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, is celebrating his 90th birthday.

Born in Freeland on July 16, 1925, he is the son of the late Albert C. and Irene (Goeppert) Snyder. He has a brother, Donald E. Snyder of Weatherly, and a sister, Carol M. Cipperley of San Jose, California.

Albert graduated from the Mining Mechanical Institute in 1943. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1943-1946. He was a proud member of the Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe.

The Jim Thorpe Area High School Class of 1967 will hold a class get-together for breakfast at the Boulevard Drive-in, Lehighton, at 10 a.m. Monday.

All former classmates are invited.

Spouses are welcome also. Also those interested in the August picnic should contact Dee Herman Miller.

The class of 1969 will be joining the class of 1967 as well.
