Shannon Boyle of Freeland and David Andreas of Lehighton have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be earned an MBA from the University of Phoenix, where she is currently working toward a doctorate in management. She will graduate this year.

The prospective bridegroom has a degree in electrical engineering.

He is employed as a calibration technician with ENV Services in Hatfield.

A wedding is planned for August of this year.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Steven Rebert of Hanover and Holly and Brian Seymore of Spring Grove.

She is a graduate of Ithaca College where she earned a degree in science writing and human disease.

She is employed as a technology coordinator, writer and media designer.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Gary and Judy Blake of Summit Hill.

He is a graduate of DeSales University where he earned a degree in political science.

Jillian Marie Castaldi of Scranton and Shawn Patrick McArdle of Nesquehoning have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter Martin and Renee Castaldi of Scranton.

She is a graduate of Misericordia University with a bachelor's of science in nursing. She is pursuing a master's degree in family health nurse practitioner at the University of Scranton.

She is currently employed as a registered nurse in the emergency room at Geisinger Community Medical Center.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of John and DelRey McArdle of Nesquehoning.

Mr. and Mrs. Mel Eckman

Jordan Mertz, daughter of Denise Mertz, and Mel Eckman, son of Malinda and Kyle Eckman, were united in marriage on Nov. 1, 2014, at Beltzville State Park.

Pastor Jim Dean officiated the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her brother, Tucker Mertz, the bride chose her sister, Avery Mertz, as her maid of honor.

Joseph Devereaux served as the best man.

Family and friends celebrated the nuptials in Lehighton following the wedding.

Birte "Chris" Grover

Birte "Chris" Grover, a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, recently celebrated her 90th birthday.

Chris was born in Roskilde, Denmark, on Jan. 7, 1925.

She was a stewardess in her early 20s. She speaks five different languages, which certainly helped in her profession.

Chris met the love of her life, the late Niles Grover, who was a pilot, and they were married in 1948.

Chris was very active in the Weatherly Flower Club, of which she was president for many years. She's made many friends throughout the local area.

Agnes Limberg

Agnes Limberg, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, is celebrating her 93rd birthday.

Born in Easton on Jan. 22, 1922, Agnes was married to Laird Limberg for 32 years until his death in 1972.

Agnes has eight children: Michael Limberg of Hazleton; Dorothy Moser of Wayne; Karen Wright of Neschanic Station, New Jersey; Mary Thompson of New Tripoli; Patricia Limberg of Colleyville, Texas; Diane Piparata of Easton; Laird Limberg of San Diego, California; and Jeffrey Limberg of Mesa, Arizona.

She has 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Anna Marie Glaush

A daughter, Anna Marie Glaush, was born at 11:10 p.m. Nov. 12, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Allentown to Sara and Jeremy Glaush of Lehighton.

She weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and measured 18.5 inches long.

She was welcomed home by her older brother, Noah, who is 5.
