Helen Rhoades

Helen (Reimiller) Rhoades, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, is celebrating her 94th birthday.

Born in Hazleton on Nov. 16, 1919, she is the daughter of the late Clora and Charles Reimiller.

On Nov. 5, 1938, Helen wed Charles Rhoades, who died in 2004. They parented three children: Clo-Ellen Rhoades Triano of Richmond, Va., Charles Oscar Rhoades (deceased) and George Byron Rhoades of Weatherly.

Helen is the proud grandmother to seven: twins Scott and Shawn Rhoades, David Triano, Steven Triano, Michele Rhoades, Travis Rhoades and Caitlin Rhoades.

Palmerton High School Class of 1953 held a two-day 60-year class reunion on Sept. 6-7. On the first day, 20 class members met at the Hampton Inn. On the second day classmates enjoyed a luncheon at the Blue Ridge Country Club. Classmates traveled from Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and Connecticut for the gathering.

LINDA KOEHLER/TIMES NEWS Stella Wrazien was the honored guest at a birthday party at Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home, where she is a resident.

Family and friends wished Stella (Mikulski) Wrazien a very happy 101st birthday at Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home in Kunkletown, with a party. There were balloons, cake and entertainment by Gary and Carol Kratzer.

Stella was born Nov. 10, 1912 in Edwardsville. She married Henry Wrazien in 1939. He passed away in 1963. They have one son, Roger, married to Bonnie.

She has one grandson, David, married to Alisa and three great-grandchildren, Haley, 15, Brittney, 12 and Colin, 5, all of Stroudsburg. All attended the celebration.

Lynn A. Sheehan and Todd D. Rehrig, both of Lehighton, have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Richard W. Davenport of Berwick and the late Virginia G. Davenport of Lansford. She is a 1983 graduate of Berwick Area High School and a 2010 graduate of Lehigh Carbon Community College with a degree in special education.

She is employed by the Jim Thorpe Area School District for the past 13 years in the area of special education.

The engagement of Leah Danielson Of Miramar Beach, Fla. to Cory Travis, also of Miramar Beach, has been announced by her parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rodger and Diane Danielson of Palmerton. She is a 2006 graduate of Palmerton Area High School and a 2011 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She is employed as an assistant store manager at Gymboree.

Laura Raibeck, daughter of Elizabeth Raibeck, Albrightsville, and the late Edward Raibeck, was united in marriage to Jonathan Dufresne, son of Raymond and Linda Dufresne of Atkinson, N.H. on Oct. 5, 2013 in Vancouver, BC Canada.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School. In 2006 she earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and a bachelor of arts degree in German from Lafayette College.

In 2008 she graduated with a master's degree in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech.

Richard L. Dorward, formerly of Lehighton, has announced his engagement to Paula Sue Ream.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1985 graduate of Lehighton High School and is self-employed as a roofing contractor.

The bride-to-be is a 1980 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School and is the executive director of the Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley nonprofit organization.

The couple resides in Chapman and plans to be married in 2014.

Tobin Scott Arieta

A son, Tobin Scott Arieta, was born at 9:21 p.m., July 30, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, to Melissa (Nothstein) and Richard Arieta of Lehighton. He weighed 3 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 17 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Wayne and Donna Nothstein of Lehighton and Willard and Judith Remmel, also of Lehighton.

Paternal grandparents are Richard and Deborah Arieta of Lehighton
