Hollie Huntington, daughter of Karen and Bill Nothstein of Andreas, and Matt MacMillen, son of Joan and Wilkins MacMillen of Voorheesville, N.Y. were united in marriage on Nov. 16, 2013 at Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie.

Father Jim St. George officiated the double ring ceremony. Julianna MacMillen, niece of the bridegroom was the vocalist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Megan (Smith) Godard of Bristol, Conn. to serve as matron of honor.

Ashley Hess and John Maurer

The engagement of Ashley Hess of Elizabethtown to John Maurer, also of Elizabethtown, has been announced by her parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Robert and Dawn Hess of Lancaster. She is a 2002 graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School and a 2006 graduate of Shippensburg University.

She is currently employed as a purchasing agent at Highland Tank.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of John and Nina Maurer of Nesquehoning. He is a 2002 graduate of Panther Valley High School and a 2006 graduate of Shippensburg University.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Maurer

Deanna McIveen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Graham McIveen of Tamworth, Australia, became the bride of Francis James Maurer, son of John and Nina Maurer of Nesquehoning on Sept. 27, 2013 at sunset on Wakiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Sandy Eade of Australia to be her maid of honor.

The bridegroom's brother, John Robert Maurer, performed the duties of best man.

Following the service a reception was held at the Orchid Restaurant in Honolulu.

The couple honeymooned in Hawaii.

Cecily Maryn LaClair

LACLAIR A daughter, Cecily Maryn LaClair, was born at 8:02 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2014 in Summit, N.J. to Keri and Jeremy LaClair of New Jersey.

She weighed 7 pounds and measured 19 inches long.

The new baby was welcomed home by an older brother, Cadden Philip, who is 2 years old.

Maternal grandparents are Peggy Sue O'Donnell of Jim Thorpe and George and Patricia Harris of Lehighton.

Paternal grandparents are Philip and Jill LaClair of Evans Mills, N.Y.

Lehighton High School Class of 1965 will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19 to begin planning the 50th anniversary reunion.

The breakfast meeting will be held at 443 Beacon Restaurant, Blakeslee Boulevard, Lehighton.

All class members are welcome to attend.

Angeline Fudge

Angeline Fudge, McAdoo, and now a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community is celebrating her 90th birthday.

Born Feb. 13, 1924, she is the daughter of the late Peter and Rose Tomaino.

She was married to the love of her life, Anthony Fudge until his death in 2007.

She has two children, Patricia who resides in Hazleton and Anthony Jr. who resides in McAdoo.

She has six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A birthday party will be held in her honor at Heritage Hill. Greetings can be mailed to her at 800 6th St. Weatherly, Pa. 18255.

Kathryn J. Semanoff, daughter of Gene and Evelyn Semanoff of Lehighton, and Jason M. Fedor, son of the late Larry C. Fedor of Palmerton, were united in marriage on Aug. 3, 2013 at Historic Hotel Bethlehem in Bethlehem.

The Rev. Edward Cloughen, the bride's uncle, officiated the double ring ceremony. Daniel Propson was the pianist and vocalist.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Dr. Alison Semanoff, as matron of honor. The bridegroom's brother, Jared C. Fedor, performed the duties of best man.

LINDA KOEHLER/TIMES NEWS Gordon Chandler can't think of anything he likes better to do on his 100th birthday than to play cards.

His birth certificate may say that he turned 100 years old on Feb. 4, but Gordon Chandler says he still feels like a boy.

He attributes his longevity to "I just keep on moving," he says.

Chandler was born in Bethlehem. His family moved to Schnecksville and then Slatington, where he has lived most of his life.
