Heather N. Hoxter and Kyle L. Spotts

The engagement of Heather Noelle Hoxter, Lancaster, to Kyle Louis Spotts, also of Lancaster, has been announced by his parents, Allen and Gwen Spotts Jr. of Tamaqua.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joe and Wendy Mastripolito of Glenmoore, Pa. A graduate of Kutztown University, she is employed by the School District of Lancaster.

The prospective bridegroom earned his bachelor's degree at Kutztown University and his master's degree at East Stroudsburg University. He is employed by Kutztown University.

A wedding date is set for June 25 of this year.

@$:Joseph DeMaria turned 100 years old on Wednesday, March 23.

Joseph DeMaria of Hometown, formerly of Hazleton, celebrated his 100th birthday yesterday. He was born on March 23, 1911 in Kelayres.

A current resident of the Hometown Nursing Center, DeMaria also previously resided in Still Creek with his daughter, Judy, and her husband, Wayne Postupack.

He is a son of the late Ignazio and Domenica (Cerami) DeMaria.

The youngest of the seven DeMaria siblings (four brothers and three sisters), he is the last immediate member of the family.

In addition to his daughter Judy, he had a stepdaughter, the late Gloria Olsen of Florida.

Mr. and Mrs. John Jones

Annette Strohl, daughter of Charles and Joan Strohl of Jim Thorpe, and John Jones, son of the late John and Alice Jones of Summit Hill, were united in marriage by Mayor Paul McArdle of Summit Hill. The double ring ceremony was held on Dec. 24, 2010 in the couple's home in Summit Hill.

Given in marriage by her sons Daniel and Richard Abel, the bride chose Robin Heydt as her matron of honor.

Daniel Abel was the best man.

The new Mrs. Jones is a graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School and McCann School of Business. She is employed by Elbeco City Shirt in Frackville.

Adam LaRose celebrated his 100th birthday on March 11.

Adam LaRose turned 100 years old this month and has something in common with today's youngsters. The former Lehighton man has his own Wii video game system, which he received at the age of 98.

He likes to play Tiger Woods PGA Tour on the Wii with his friends at Calvary Fellowship Homes Retirement Community in Lancaster. Sometimes he has a good game, but would prefer to play regular golf.

In addition to golf, LaRose enjoys Wii bowling, baseball and strength-fitness games. He also likes to read historical fiction.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Allen Keller Jr. of Gilbert and Bonnie Keller of Trachsville. He is a 1994 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School. He is currently employed by Muschlitz Excavating.

A wedding is scheduled for May 7 of this year.

The engagement of MaryAnn Storm-Dait, Lehighton, to Hubert "Bob" Alward, also of Lehighton, has been announced by her mother, Mary S. Storm, Lehighton, and her sons, Joseph and Matthew Dait.

The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Lester G. Storm. She is a 1981 graduate of Lehighton Area High School and the Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing. She earned an associate degree in business management from L.C.C.C.

She is currently employed by Northampton County at Gracedale Nursing Home.
