Alex Robert Benninger and Avery Rose  Benninger

BENNINGER Alex Robert Benninger and Avery Rose Benninger were born on Dec. 31, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Allentown to Jennifer and William Benninger of Lehighton.

Alex was born at 9:55 a.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and measured 18.5 inches long.

Avery was born at 9:57 a.m. She weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces, and measured 20.5 inches long.

The twins were welcomed home by their older sister, Sarah, who is 5 years old.

Maternal grandparents are Willard and Sophie Laury of Lehighton.

Paternal grandmother is Connie Benninger of Allentown.

Jenna Stokes and Jeremy Jenkins

The engagement of Jenna Christine Stokes of Duncansville, and Jeremy Jenkins, also of Duncansville, has been announced by her father.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Robert Stokes of Coaldale, and the late Christine Stokes.

She is a graduate of Panther Valley High School. She is a graduate of Gettysburg College, where she majored in biochemistry and molecular biology. She graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and did her residency at Altoona Family Physicians in Altoona.

Mr. and Mrs. Rick Peters

The Barnhouse Village Gazebo in Bath was the setting for the Oct. 4 wedding of Kathleen Dombrosky, daughter of Paul and Betty Dombrosky of Andreas, to Rick Peters, son of the late Allen and Joyce Peters.

The double ring ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Robert W. Busch.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attended by Kimberly Eckert of Auburn.

Bridesmaids were Olivia Cordero of Lancaster, daughter of the bridegroom, and Annette Dombrosky of Andreas, sister-in-law of the bride.

Best man honors were performed by John Eckert of Auburn.

Mr. and Mrs. Sean Dennison

Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona, was the setting for the wedding of Tiffany Marie Walters, daughter of Craig and Helen Walters of Tamaqua, and Sean Dennison, son of Dr. Randall and Gale Dennison of Kentucky.

The couple's friend, Michael Hall, conducted the ceremony. The bride's siblings, C.J. and Brittany Walters, provided readings.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by the Dennison nieces, Isabella and Anna.

An outdoor reception was held at the botanical gardens following the ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gerber

Elda and Ralph Gerber of New Ringgold are celebrating their 74th wedding anniversary. They were married on Dec. 21, 1940, at Zion's Stone Church in Snyders by the late Rev. W.W. Moyer. They are lifelong members of Zion's Stone Church.

Mrs. Gerber is the former Elda Shellhamer, daughter of the late Eva and Morris Shellhamer of New Ringgold. Her husband is the son of the late Katie and Mahlon Gerber of New Ringgold.

The Gerbers have two daughters: Janice, wife of Walter Rudy of Bridgeville, Delaware; and Rhea, wife of Gerald Steigerwalt of New Ringgold.

The engagement of Samantha Thomas and Michael Capita IV has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Kim and Gar Thomas of Lake Hauto.

She is a graduate of Tamaqua Area High School.

She earned a bachelor of science in education degree from Bloomsburg University.

She is currently employed as a global coordinator by Metso Minerals of Danville.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Eleanor and Michael Capita III of Berwick.

He is a graduate of Berwick High School.

Richard and LuAnn Noll of Lehighton recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

They were married Nov. 29, 1974, in Zion United Church of Christ, Lehighton, by the late Rev. Dr. Jerome Wenner.

Mr. Noll is the son of the late Willard and Kathryn Noll of Bowmanstown and is retired from Alliant Tech/Hercules Aerospace Division. Mrs. Noll, the former LuAnn Williams, is the daughter of the late Lewis and Helen Williams of Lehighton, and is a retired furniture buyer, having worked for Kern's Furniture.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene F. Dougherty of Jim Thorpe recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married Oct. 17, 1964, at Immaculate Conception Church in Jim Thorpe. The Rev. Potts was the officiant.

Mrs. Dougherty is the former Margaret M. Haupt, daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Haupt of Jim Thorpe. Her husband is the son of the late Clyde and Mary Hill and Robert Dougherty, all of Jim Thorpe.

Mr. and Mrs. Rod Heckman on their wedding day

Mr. and Mrs. Rod Heckman of Lehighton recently celebrated their 25th anniversary. They were married on Nov. 25, 1989, in Covenant United Methodist Church, Klecknersville, by the late Rev. Dave Unangst.

Mrs. Heckman is the former Robin Wadding, daughter of Beverly Cuff of Montello, Wisconsin; and John Raybuck of Knox, Pennsylvania. She is employed as a hearing support teacher for the I.U. 20.

Mr. Heckman is the son of Arlene Heckman of Klecknersville and the late Harvey Heckman. He is a sports writer for the Times News.
