Rita Aniszewski

Rita (Neglia) Aniszewski, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, is celebrating her 91st birthday.

Born in Harlem, New York, on Aug. 1, 1923, she is the youngest sister of eight siblings.

Rita was married to Anthony Aniszewski for 45 years until his death in 1993. They both enjoyed world and U.S. travel.

Rita has two daughters: Rose Cava of Jim Thorpe, and Rita, who passed away in August 1999.

She has two granddaughters, one lives in Jim Thorpe, and the other in South Carolina, along with her two great-granddaughters.

Ben Green and Rachel Smith

The engagement of Rachel Smith of Kunkletown to Ben Green, also of Kunkletown, has been announced by their parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Tracey and Tracy Smith of Kunkletown. She is a 2007 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School and MCTI.

She is employed by Shop Rite.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Lisa Green and the late Meril Green of Kunkletown.

He is a 2006 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School and MCTI. He is employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

A wedding date is set for Nov. 1 of this year.

The 84thFrable-Fravel family reunion will take place from noon until 5 p.m. Aug. 10 at St. Matthew's U.C.C. Church Picnic Grove in Kunkletown.

There will be food, fun and games, Chinese auction, bingo, cake walk and more. Entertainment will be by Lenny & The Loafers and One Night Stand.

The public is invited; bring a chair.

Mirabella Rose Rivera

A daughter, Mirabella Rose Rivera, was born at 10:46 p.m. July 1, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown to Kiersten Matika of Summit Hill and Joel Rivera of Nesquehoning.

She weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 19 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Daniel and Valerie Matika of Summit Hill.

Paternal grandparents are Rosalind Rivera of Jim Thorpe and Jose Rivera of Roswell, Georgia.

Mr. and Mrs. Brian Deren

Teresa Harvey and Brian Deren, both of Lansford, exchanged vows on June 7, 2014, at the New Ringgold Firehouse.

Mayor John Belsak officiated the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, Al Royal of Brooksville, Florida, the bride chose her mother, Diane Royal of Brooksville to serve as matron of honor.

The bridegroom is the son of Rosemary and Joseph Deren of New Ringgold. His father also performed the duties of best man.

A reception followed the ceremony at the firehouse.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snyder of 313 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, will celebrate their 64th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.

They were married on July 29, 1950, in Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, by the late Rev. Charles Schlitzer.

Mrs. Snyder is the former Joan Schlosser. She is retired after working as the Tamaqua borough secretary for 25 years.

Her husband is a disabled veteran with over 16 years of military service with the U.S. Army.

He was last employed as plant superintendent at the former Diversified Metals Corporation in Hometown.
