Sandra Virginia Labenburg of Lansford and John Thomas Foster, also of Lansford, have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry T. Labenburg Sr.

She is retired.

The prospective bridegroom is also retired.

The couple plans to wed on July 18.

Winifred "Winkie" Woods

Winifred Emma (Mulhern) Woods, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community is celebrating her 92nd birthday.

Nicknamed "Winkie," she was born in West Hazleton on April 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Winifred and Daniel Mulhern of West Hazleton.

She graduated from Weatherly Area High School in 1940. She then attended McCann's School of Business for stenography and later began working in the Hazleton National Bank building for A. Sterling Learn, CPA. Sterling and Winkie later married in 1945. They were married for 42 years until his death in 1987.

A daughter, Arabella Grace O'Donnell, was born at 4:31 a.m. March 31, 2015, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, to Nicholas Dennis O'Donnell and Kayla Ann Zambiasi of Danville.

She weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 19.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Phillip and Karen Zambiasi of Minersville.

Paternal grandparents are Mike and Lisa O'Donnell of Tamaqua.

Mr. and Mrs. Travis Halabura

Jessica Bensinger, daughter of David and Margaret Bensinger of Tamaqua, and Travis Halabura, son of David and the late Suzette Halabura, also of Orwigsburg, were united in marriage on Aug. 16, 2014, at Bensinger Farms in Tamaqua.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Jennifer Bensinger as her maid of honor.

Bridesmaids included Heather Patrick and Stephanie Bastian. Harleigh Patrick was the flower girl.

The bridegroom chose Kyle Halabura as his best man.

Groomsmen included Matt Halabura and Justin Halabura.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Miller

Stephanie and Ernest Miller of East Penn Township recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

They were married April 4, 1975, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lehighton by the Rev. Paul H. Spohn.

Mrs. Miller is the daughter of Margaret Strohl, Lehighton, and the late George Strohl. Her husband is the son of Mildred Miller of Lehighton and the late Charles Miller.

They have two daughters. Kimberly, wife of Jonathan Sterling of Lehighton; and Misty, wife of Matthew Kershner, also of Lehighton.

They have five grandchildren.
