Misericordia University, Dallas, recently recognized six students in the doctor of physical therapy program for going above and beyond their required course load.

Six third-year DPT students completed certification in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment BIG, a specialty program designed to train rehabilitation therapists in an evidence-based treatment approach for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders.

Students include Kaitlyn Wisser of Saylorsburg and Cailin McCullion of Nesquehoning.

G. Michael Kovacs and Michele Hoffman

Michele Hoffman and G. Michael Kovacs of Palmerton have announced their engagement.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Hoffman of New Tripoli.

Her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Kovacs of Palmerton.

The couple are planning a wedding for Aug. 22 of this year.

Walter N. Hill of Tamaqua celebrated his 100th birthday on July 21 surrounded by family and friends, including a new great-grandson. The party was held in the community room at the Tamaqua Majestic House apartments.

Palmerton High School Class of 1985 will hold its 30-year class reunion from 6 to 11 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Sokol Hall in Palmerton.

Tickets are $30, and include dinner, beer, beverages, and entertainment. Bring your own bottle.

Andre David Kantor

KANTOR A son, Andre David Kantor, was born at 11:04 a.m. April 10, 2015, at St. Luke's in Allentown, to Courtney Ann Bruno and Stephen Michael Kantor of Tamaqua.

He weighed 9.8 pounds and was 20.5 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are John Bruno and the late Michele Bruno.

Paternal grandparents are Richard Kantor and Kathryn Nunemacher.

Andre was welcomed home by his siblings Kyle, Michael, Brody and Joseph.

Olivia Rebert-Blake and Daniel Blake

Olivia Rebert of Glenville, daughter of Holly Seymore and Brian Seymore of Spring Grove, and Steven Rebert of Hanover, and Daniel Blake, also of Glenville, son of Judith and Gary Blake of Summit Hill, were united in marriage on April 11, 2015, in Gettysburg.

The Rev. Judith Gausch officiated the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, Steven Rebert, the bride chose Emily Rebert to be her matron of honor.

Her attendants included Kimberly Price, bridesmaid, and Benjamin Long, bridesman.

The bridegroom chose Patrick Blake as his best man.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Morgan

Robert and Margaret Morgan of Walnutport in Lehigh Township, recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on July 30, 1955.

The Morgans renewed their vows recently at St. Nicholas Church in Berlinsville. The Rev. Edward McElduff and the Rev. Thomas Druzack were the celebrants of the Mass.

Robert was the manager of the former Acme Store in Slatington. He could also be found taking pictures at the Northern Lehigh football games.

Margaret worked at the former Dee-ville Blouse Co. until retiring after 37 years.
