Bush’s Beans has announced a voluntary recall of certain 28 ounce cans of BUSH’S® Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans, Country Style Baked Beans and Original Baked Beans due to potentially defective side seams on the cans. The theft of various items from a vehicle in the 600 block of West Lizard Creek Road, East Penn Township, is being investigated by state police at the Lehighton barracks. The incident happened between noon July 2 and 3 p.m. July 7. The victim, Christopher Odenwelder, 47, told police someone stole a GPS unit, various tools and a Sony car stereo from his vehicle. Police said the estimated loss is $949 while an additional $100 in damages were sustained by the vehicle.
