Boulder View Tavern in Lake Harmony is celebrating Oktoberfest on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Oktoberfest is a great opportunity to sample authentic Bavarian cuisine and traditional German beers."Every year, we embrace the tradition of Oktoberfest by offering our customers authentic Bavarian dishes with recipes from the Old Country," said Marcel Engelmann, general manager of Boulder View Tavern who was born and raised in Sangerhausen, Germany."This year we are taking it one step further by transforming the restaurant into a German Beer hall and bringing in German musicians."To add to the authenticity of the Oktoberfest, patrons will be served by staff dressed in lederhosen and dirndls.Authentic Bavarian food includes knackwurst, bratwurst, schnitzel, sauerbraten, spaetzle, potato salad and homemade cakes and pastries plus a variety of domestic and imported beers.The festival runs from 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday. Authentic live German music begins at 6 p.m. Friday with the Josef Kroboth Trio and Saturday at 6 p.m. with the Cheers Oompah Band. The fest continues at 9 a.m. Sunday for a German-themed Champagne Brunch Buffet available until 1 p.m.
