Marian students earn science awards

Seven Marian Catholic High School students received awards during the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Regional Competition held at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre.

The announcement of the awards was made by Marian Principal Jean Susko.First-place awards were presented to: Aidan Hinchey, ecology; Aaron Srinivasan, microbiology; Grace Mussoline, behavioral psychology; Alison Anilosky, behavioral psychology; and Thomas Betterly, behavioral psychology.Second-place winners were: Nicole Capparell, microbiology; and Meghan Darrough, behavioral psychology.First-place winners will attend the state competition in May at Penn State University in University Park.Robert Valente, Marian Catholic chemistry teacher, and Lorraine Piehota, retired Bishop Hafey science instructor, were sponsors.
