The Schuylkill County Prison Board on Wednesday fired one part-time correctional officer and hired another.

Following a 20-minute executive session, the board agreed to terminate Ryan Meyer of Frackville.Asked why, board members said it was a personnel issue.Meyer attended a recent public meeting to say he had been injured during training, had not been called to work, and wasn't clear whether he was considered a county employee.The board also hired Scott Houser of Frackville as a part-time correctional officer.The former state trooper will earn $19.14 an hour.
