State Police Frackville — Crashes

• Javier C. Sanchez, 42, of Shenandoah, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 6:28 a.m. Nov. 29 on the Ringtown Boulevard in Union Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said he was driving a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta east when he swerved to avoid striking a vehicle in the oncoming lane that was attempting to pass another vehicle.

Police sad the Jetta impacted an embankment on the south side of the road and rolled over one complete time before landing on its wheels.

Police said the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Sanchez was charged with driving without a license.

• Two vehicles were damaged in an incident at 1:13 a.m. Nov. 23 on Aristes Road in Union Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Taya L. Sevenosky, 22, of Kulpmont, was driving a 221 Hyundai Elantra westbound when a deer entered her path. Police said she was unable to avoid striking the animal after it walked into her lane of travel.

Police said the second vehicle was a 2012 Ford Focus driven by Olivia W. Weyman, 18, of Frackville, which sideswiped the Elantra while it was stopped after the incident with the deer.

No one was hurt in the mishap, although Stevenosky was transported to the Geisinger Medical Center for evaluation.

The Elantra needed to be towed from the scene, police said.

• On Dec. 6 at 8:17 a.m. a one-vehicle crash occurred along Wildcat Road in Walker Township. Troopers said Kristen M. Nunemacher, 20, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty southbound and negotiating a right-hand curve when the vehicle hit a patch of ice. This caused the vehicle to go off the left side of the road and strike a ditch.

Nunemacher and her passenger, Kallia C. Wall, 18, of Tamaqua, were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 8:08 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the intersection of Route 309 and Lincoln Drive, in Rush Township. Troopers said Suzanne Zeller, 68, of Hazleton, driving a 2021 Subaru Forester, was stopped at a stop sign on Lincoln Drive preparing to go north on 309 while Rahmat Hidayat, 46, of Coaldale, driving a 2006 Honda Civic, was southbound on 309.

Zeller proceeded without clearance onto 309 and her vehicle was struck by Hidayat’s vehicle.

Zeller and her passenger, Lisa J. Petruzzi, 58, of Hazle Township, and Rahmat, were all not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Zeller was cited for a stop sign violation.
