Carbon County Commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners, on Thursday, acted on the following items:

• Approved a first extension to the Personal Emergency Response System contracts with Connect America.com, Medscope America Corporation and Valued Relationships Inc. to provide emergency response services for the Carbon County Area Agency on Aging consumers through June 30, 2020.

• Approved the Children and Youth Services 2018-19 second quarter Act 148 invoice report, which will result in the county receiving $14,594.13 in IT funds, $1,900 in special grant funds, $18,734.66 in Title IV-E AA funds, $274.72 in Medicaid funds and $8,849 in TANF funds.

• Approved an engagement letter with Maher Duessel Certified Public Accountants of Pittsburgh to audit the financial statements of Carbon County 911 for 2017 and 2018.

• Authorized the Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services to continue uninterrupted Homeless Assistance Program Case Management and Rental Assistance Services beyond June 30, 2019.

• Authorized the Carbon County Action Committee for Human Services to continue uninterrupted Human Services Development Fund supported Chore, Housing Related Service Planning/Case Management and HSDF-HAP services to clients in need beyond June 30, 2019.

• Approved a Fair Housing resolution/notice, and advertisement, as required for the 2019 Community Development Block Grant program.

• Approved a termination of the agreement with Professional Care Partnership LLC of Lehighton, doing business as Senior Helpers for Personal Care and Home Support Services, effective immediately. Senior Helpers closed on June 26.
