Tamaqua police citations

Tamaqua police released information on several recent citations issued by officers.

• Robert M. Valentine, 49, of Marlin, was cited for violating a protection from abuse order issued by the Schuylkill County Common Pleas Court on June 21. Valentine made repeated phone calls to the victim on July 6. He was cited for indirect criminal contempt of court.• Melissa Robinson, 36, of Barnesville, was cited for criminal mischief and defiant trespass after she damaged a door atan East Elm Street residence on July 20. Damage was estimated at $485.• Francesco Pavia, 45, of Jim Thorpe, was cited for disorderly conduct after he caused disturbances at three locations on July 9. The disturbances were over custody of a child.• David Blake, 40, no known address, was cited after a fight on Rowe Street on July 9. Blake was swinging a flat piece of metal, striking one man in the arm and another in the leg at 8:10 p.m. He was arraigned before duty District Judge James Reiley, of Pottsville, who set bail at $10,000 percentage. Blake was transported to the Schuylkill County prison in lieu of bail.• Stephen M. Melnick, 56, of Cedar Street, Tamaqua, was cited for public drunkenness after he harassed several people in the parking lot at Boyer's Food Mart on July 11. Melnick told officers he was using the Wi-Fi at Boyer's as he doesn't have it at home. Witnesses said he was yelling at people in the lot, causing a disturbance. Melnick, who was unsteady on his feet and smelled strongly of alcohol, was given the opportunity to go home. When he ignored that opportunity he was taken to the police station and cited.• Joshua Schrepple, 35, of Van Gelder Street, Tamaqua, was cited for retail theft after he took a Jolly Rancher drink box on July 17. Store surveillance shows Schrepple walking inside the store as well as picking up a drink box. A few minutes later, he placed the box on a table and left the store. A store clerk picked up the box and discovered it was empty. He was cited for retail theft.• Lori Carroll, 52, and Tracy Collins, 58, both of 205 W. Rowe St., Tamaqua were cited for public drunkenness after they were found on the ground in a parking lot at Broad and Nescopec streets. Police were called to the lot at 11:25 p.m. on July 16. Both women were transported to St. Luke's Miners Campus in Coaldale - Collins for a head injury and Carroll for possible alcohol poisoning.
